Belfast another appalling attack, we need to ask what is driving this.

An atrocious attack last evening on the streets of Belfast.

Thank God for the local resident with a hurl who with help succeeded in beating the attacker away.

What is behind these attacks, what is driving men who have risked their lives to get to our shores to then behave in this way?

Is it culture, racism, MH or drugs?

I wish to understand what is happening.

I know this is controversial but I do believe that government is not providing adequate policing in times of crisis. Also for example, the fact that Jewish communities pay a significant portion for security speaks volumes. The State is not maintaining law and order countrywide.

I think that we all know why these type of atrocities are happening in the U.K.
(and, indeed, to greater and lesser numbers across Europe)

The question is rather 'Who is driving this?' And of course the answer is Nigel Farage and Stephen Yaxley Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson). Both have huge incomes that are entirely dependant upon them destabilising the UK through racism.

I totally agree with you FallingStar
I’m happy to wait for my turn in the ballot box. No more UniParty for me.

So many of these incidents that hit the headlines seem to describe individuals who are literally off their faces as to rudeness and the level of disrespect they display to their host country before they even go on to commit such a horrendous crime. I think I read before the awful man who murdered Rhiannon White, chucked some biscuits she offered him right back in her face shock Based on that alone, I think anyone who displays that level of arrogance should lose their right to stay here.

Nevertheless, I'd reiterate that people taking to the streets as a lynch mob is completely unacceptable and truly appalling.

I think you’re wrong about that, particularly so in Ireland at the moment.
They may be as you infer cashing in on it but are not driving it.

And Tommy Robinson is in Moscow meeting up with Elon Musks father…

The people we have to thank🤬for ridiculous levels of immigration are various past governments including both Conservatives and Labour.
Labour are trying to get the numbers down at least, so I do give them some credit for that.
Illegal immigration’s a thorn in the side of all governments that nobody has really managed to get a grip of as yet.

Surely, surely, surely it is obvious what is behind these attacks? We are allowing access to our shores to people from barbaric cultures, many of whom are actually criminals, and we are not allowed to debate this without cries of 'racist' fascist' etc. We need to be able to talk about all of this sensibly, openly and fairly, and have access to the relevant statistics (regarding asylum seekers who have absconded, the criminal element etc.) or this will only get worse and the extremely long-suffering British and Irish people will rise up, get called 'extremist' and, well - it doesn't bear thinking about, but was actually predicted by some Conservative politician when I was small - name escapes me.

Hear hear the person who said that if you come from awar torn, race divided country it will impact. Then add the hostility you are met with from some here. Then add poor medical facilities for refugees. Tgey have a special service that often doesn’t know if they’re still here
Some ignoramus on the radios ( a ‘deformed’ politician! said why are so many without jobs.
They are not even allowed to volunteer. Let alone work until they gave leave to stay.

Just out of interest how do you expansion horrific murders/ rapes/attacks by white people ( mainly men)? Or don’t they count because it’s fine to be murdered/raped/ attacked by white people.

Tuliptree Wed 10-Jun-26 14:15:01

Explain not expansion

I believe you are referring to Enoch Powell........most definitely racist and fascist!!

I live near Belfast.
The UK has problems with immigration. NI has more because we don't have an EU border with the Republic which doesn't help. Of course our government didn't have the intelligence to think this through with Brexit. The attacker entered via Dublin.
But! However horrific the attack was, it doesn't excuse the violence. No one I know supports it. We think it's paramilitary driven. I went to buy food today and did not meet one black person. Obviously staying indoors. Just awful, especially children. I am so very sad and depressed about what's happening.

Those who come are sold a story of streets paved with gold, but this is an island so however much you grow to dislike it you can’t get away again although I read that in Kent desperate boat people are now trying

At first it was thought he was a Somali but he's actually Sudanese. What an evil person. The poor victim has now lost his eye. He has sustained deep cuts to his head, face and back. While in hospital receiving treatment for a hand injury, the attacker told medical staff I will kill you! Just send him back! He's an illegal immigrant and shouldn't be here.

This could be considered quite a goady post - are you encouraging people to report posts? If so why?

I think there is some truth in what you say, and the main reason imho is because policing has been cut to the bone.
When I was a kid, and am sure it is probs true for you, there were Bobbie’s on the beat, and it certainly acted as a deterrent for any of us as teens if we decided to misbehave.
Nowadays if you call the police it will take ages for them to show up. My daughter once called the police after seeing druggies dealing drugs quite openly in a park, seemed too brazen for words until you realise that the police often turn up hours later - as in the case of my daughter - and the druggies are long gone. They know they have free rein.
Also as shown by the recent case of those young boys raping two girls repeatedly. They literally got away with it. So even when the police do their job by arresting a criminal the courts then set them free to offend again.

He was from Sudan where beheadings etc happen.Unfortunately because of open Irish border he came to NI by bus and was given leave to stay for 5 years. The government have no idea who these savages are so blame them. Hillary Benn even pretended not to understand "alien culture".

If there is an actual legal method to control illegal immigration, apart from 'something must be done' and/or 'let's vote Reform', please tell.

Plenty of shootings happen every day in the US but Americans who come to live and work here don’t - as far as I know - rampage around with guns.
Beheadings are also rife in Saudi but have not heard of any Saudis coming here and trying to beheaded anyone.
I imagine the majority of Sudanese people, like anyone else, are not prone to murder innocent civilians.
