They come looking for a better way of life, but the, can't deal with a western way of life. It would seem alien to say the least.
Soops kitchen, a place of reflection, refuge and at times revelry.
An atrocious attack last evening on the streets of Belfast.
Thank God for the local resident with a hurl who with help succeeded in beating the attacker away.
What is behind these attacks, what is driving men who have risked their lives to get to our shores to then behave in this way?
Is it culture, racism, MH or drugs?
I wish to understand what is happening.

Yes ronib, maybe more police. It will cost us, but will also provide good jobs for our young.
Worth telling your/our politicians, that we are willing to pay?
Monami , Have you been to many different countries and studied the way of life in depth by living there for an extended period ?I am rather puzzled as to whom the word their refers.
Could you please be clearer .
Please can posters say who all these they and their refer to. It is very confusing.
An anonymous post on fb yesterday afternoon announced road closures and asked men to dress in black and assemble at certain locations.
Within a very short time local business sent staff home, cancelled carers visits and closed schools.I think this may happen again tonight.
Who is behind these calls? Why were they obeyed so swiftly?
There was definitely a public outcry about the Fordingbridge rape and the outcome of a group of the boys who happened to be white, walking away with just a slap on the wrist. I don't think it's true that people only care about the ethnicity of the perpetrators when we read about horrific cases. I feel our sympathies with the victim override any of that. We want justice for them to be treated with care, not that they don't matter and they'll just get on with their lives. It's bad enough for any young person to have such an awful thing happen, without feeling her abusers are walking free, told by the judge they'd presented themselves nicely. What do they take from that other than "well that wasn't too bad" whilst grinning from ear to ear.
Another case as outlined by the CEO of the Iceland stores complaining about two tier policing, relating to a black customer who was opening bottles of milk. Apprehended by the store manager who himself is Asian. The man doing the tampering calls the police on the basis he is being racially abused. Allegedly, according to the boss who related the story as an example, the police do not attend shoplifting incidents even when it's accompanied by violence. They were able to attend this incident to arrest the Manager for having the temerity to tell the man he wasn't allowed to open milk. Presumably he was breaking the seal and who could know what his intentions on that may have been. There have incidents where edible goods have been tampered with rendering them potentially dangerous. The Manager was doing his job
Tuliptree can you please point out where it has been said white criminal activity is ok on this thread.
I gave posted that we have enough of our home grown criminals without the need for allowing more from outside our borders. That applies to all nationalities by the way.
Update , the attacker was from Sudan ! The resulting violence, anarchy, intimidation in Belfast is frightening for everybody! Indiscriminate burning of buses, cars, homes all fuelled by thugs ! I despair! I really do !

Absolutely. It’s as if the perpetrators are just waiting for an excuse to do as much damage as possible.

My post was in the context of the post I quoted. I don't recognise the point you are making so I'll gracefully decline to answer your question.
My deceased and beautiful ex did security work in Somalia when he left the army. He said he’d never seen such brutality in his life what Somalis do to other Somalis. Don’t forget about the FGM to their little girls as well. 🥲🥲

Thanks, appreciate that x
Tuliptree you posted :-
Just out of interest how do you expansion horrific murders/rapes/attacks by white people (mainly men)? Or don’t they count because it’s fine to be murdered/raped/attacked by white people
I wondered how you came to that conclusion, if it was something posted on this thread, I hadn’t noticed it and would like to read it for myself.
But, fair enough you do not want to answer…

That';s right - I don't. I was making a different point to a different poster.
Possibly GG had in mind, a point I often feel on such threads, because this type of comment is mooted quite frequently "but you don't care about white crime, white perpetrators of rape/assaults?" Should it be a prerequisite therefore to state when commenting about a crime such as this, "I'd be just as appalled if this act were to have been committed by a white British person" Because I think it's fair to say most people would. Obviously it's clear to see there are thugs who may capital out of any such incident when a foreign national is involved and they wouldn't otherwise, but it's not fair to put that onus on to the general public who don't want riots but still express their horror at the magnitude of such a violent assault on our streets. . Again, I think most of us feel that rampaging around the streets with a lynch mob mentality is appalling particularly in the targeting of innocent people.
Having said that I think we should be free to express our horror and anger when any individual who wishes to come and live in our country for whatever reason break our laws in the most appalling way. I wouldn't expect other countries to put up with a Briton who did just that in their country.
may make
I’m sure GG is grateful to you for trying to explain to me what you think she meant to say to me when she asked me a question about what I’d responded to another poster. It’s starting to feel a bit odd.
TerriBull 👍
We need to remember that the poor man who was very nearly beheaded has lost an eye and has other very serious injuries and his life will never be the same again. That is where my sympathies lie. I have none whatsoever for the alleged assailant who is an absolute monster.
People need to stop making excuses for him and concentrate on the poor victim.
Terribull. Great post!
Maybe70, You are quite right I'm sure the rioters are waiting for the summons . In fact doesn't that show that these rioters must be signed up to a group or organisation who can contact them by Facebook.
This poor man will be traumatised by this attack, his life will never be the same again.
I also feel for the people who witnessed this horrific incident. The man who came to his aid with a hurling stick should be recognised for his bravery with an award.
People may be just as appalled by a brutal murder by a white British person TerriBull, but how often does such a murder make the headlines of a Gransnet post and receive so many comments?
Did you actually spot a post, on this Thread, Primrose, in which GNs expressed sympathies for the alleged assailant?
You will have seen posts looking for reasons.
When you know and understand reasons, or when people in charge do so, then actions may be initiated to address any issues highlighted.
Once again, reasons are not excuses.
Looking for reasons has a purpose.
