Great news, this entitled eejit has been found and arrested 9 years after he pushed a pedestrian under a bus.

“The 44-year-old has been detained nine years after a jogger allegedly shoved a woman into the path of an oncoming bus on Putney Bridge in west London on May 4, 2017.

CCTV footage of the incident appeared to show the runner, described as a white man in his 30s with brown eyes and short, brown hair, pushing the 33-year-old into the path of the Number 430 bus.

Oliver Salbris, the bus driver, managed to swerve and miss the woman’s head by inches, while the jogger ran on”.

I think he’s going to be in a lot of trouble, he deserves everything that coming to him.

I am wondering if it was ‘runner rage’. Have seen runners get irritated by people who are in their way and slow them down, many get obsessed with their ‘best time’ for running a set distance. Once my husband who is disabled was elbowed by a runner and would have lost his balance if I didn’t get hold of him. Of course most are courteous but I think there is such a thing as ‘runner rage’ and the Putney pusher may have been slowed down by others then just taken it out on the woman who fell in front of the bus.
Could be totally off beam here and either way I think he needs to serve time for attempted manslaughter.

Cossy

What an awful thing and thank goodness he’s been caught!

Really he wasn’t caught was he, wife grassed him up by the sounds of it.
I don’t know what I would do if my husband told me that he had pushed someone in front of a bus tbh🤔
Mind you once I saw that footage I don’t think I could be with him.

Yes why ….she wasn’t in his way at all

Yes I think she was to one side as I recall. Wonder what possessed him to do a thing like that.

MT62 Tue 16-Jun-26 19:29:26

Thought it might be DNA off his grubby mits when he pushed her.

MissAdventure

It's absolutely chilling to watch.
How on earth could a partner stay quiet about it all these years?

The wife may have remained quiet until she was ready to leave him, then when the divorce settlement was done (lump sum hopefully) she blabbed!!!!!

In reality it could be anything, a scorned mistress, colleague or even a relation that couldn’t keep it in any longer.

He will have got a very expensive barrister and is probably fighting very hard to keep his job etc.

I am intrigued to know the full, story.

I can almost guarantee there will be a documentary made about this incident.

I would imagine that all the improvements in facial recognition have led to this.

He is apparently 'recently divorced'. I know it's not for us to speculate but if I were to be still writing, I'd be wondering about a vengeful wife/abandoned mistress etc. (Please don't have a go at me for this - fiction used to be my job, after all!)

Why not. What a way to get back at him.

REKA Tue 16-Jun-26 15:54:01

Exactly what I thought, Paperbackwriter

MadelaineP Tue 16-Jun-26 15:52:52

I thought that. Wife, mistress shopped him. Thank goodness. Dreadful man.

I remember this very well as my son and his family lived in Putney then and often walked across the bridge. Sounds like typical behaviour from entitled runners to me, and sadly not that unusual. I hope they throw the book at him.
Cyclists are even worse imo, they often cycle fast on footpaths, often right next to a cycle lane on the road.

Plevey08 A likely story!

BlueBelle Tue 16-Jun-26 14:14:13

The bus driver deserves a medal keeping everyone safe
This man needs to serve time, a fine will not puncture the sides if he’s a millionaire
I have a word for him but better not print it here
Glad they ve got him I hope the woman and the bus driver feel a little bit better
The woman could have died and the driver could have been up for manslaughter I hope they imprison him and throw away the key

Sarnia Tue 16-Jun-26 13:49:35

What a good job the bus driver was so quick at taking avoiding action otherwise it may well have been a very different ending for that poor lady. As it is she must have lasting issues from an experience like that. I wish they had chucked him in jail on remand rather than bail. The very least he deserves.

There have been further stories in the media about his £1+million house, how he's a top earner, how he's related to Royalty. Today it has been disclosed that drugs were found at his home. I'm just glad he's been caught, if it is him. It was a shocking thing to do. He even ran back across the bridge the other way and the victim, who was being assisted by witnesses, shouted at him to stop.

Hmmm sounds like somebody has tipped them off. After all this time.

Padstow13 Mon 15-Jun-26 19:47:37

Innocent unless proved guilty?

He's so far been arrested. That's all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 15-Jun-26 19:44:21

The investigation was closed in 2018, but the arrest was made on Monday after new information reportedly came to light.

The Metropolitan Police detained the man on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

A spokesman for the force said: “On Monday, 15 June, a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

“He was taken to police custody, where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident on 5 May 2017, where a woman was pushed into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge in Putney. Inquiries continue.”

Thankfully police kept that case opened.
Absolutely horrific to watch behind open fingers!
I hope he gets a long stretch the
Arrogant sod.

The case was shut in 2018, apparently new evidence came to light.

Thanks Posters, for the updates

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 15-Jun-26 17:49:59

He’s not be ‘caught’.
He, along with (I think) 3 other men, are under consideration. Yet to be proven.

Millionaire more like? Can probably afford a good lawyer….
