Farage as his dramatic, angry, narcissistic, bombastic self playing to the theatre. And, no surprises, unwilling to take any questions he must reading control at all times when his back is up against the wall
Farage is cunningly seeking to seize the initiative, undermine the Standard Commissioner investigation (which will be suspended until after by election but could then resume taking the winds out of its outcome sails) by saying "the people of Clacton will decide on his behaviour" - not the establishment. Plain game playing, theatre and 2 fingers up supposedly against the establishment of which he so wants to be a part.
He's framing his position as a victim of the press e.g. "why should I be judged by the press"? Well actually the press are doing what they always do, report, love the drama and copy and it is factually the Standards Committee that will judge his behaviour in public office (not the press) and then the electorate who offers their vote accordingly, usually down the line.
So sis back is against the wall and he knows a by election was on the cards anyway - so he's just trying to get the upper hand and control. More than that he is timing this to keep attention on himself, just as a by election takes place to coincide with AB ( if not other contender) comes to office and is in process of choosing a cabinet etc. Plus during summer recess.
There is one big part of me that hopes all other parties just dont contest the seat and take the wind out of his sails, status quo continues and the investigation continues and AB pays little attention. However the press probably would not like that scenario.
Another part of me hopes that other parties seriously contests the seat and Farage looses or his 8,450 majority is seriously undermined.
Does the country really want a theatrical, narcissistic con artist as a PM that has little regard for Standards Commission and behaviour and standards in public life? I sincerely hope not. Clacoton please say no!
Totally what I was going to say. Childish, manipulative drama king. Whining "Oh, I'm so hard done by". ...when we have the MP's who have been murdered or the women MP's with rape threats.
Restore please step forward and highlight his trying to cheat the public" - and his non appearance in the constituency except for photo shots, beer in hand.
The other parties, for goodness sake, form a pact. Only the locals will know which party might best step in or, more importantly, who - as per the Green's woman plumber in Gorton.
Also, as alluded to above, start criminal proceedings as regards Cottrell.
