So it wasn’t terrorist related now it is. 🤔
Quite.
breaking news on the BBC news site that they are investigating her death.
I didn't always agree with her opinions of her politics but would hate that her death had been tragic .RIP.

I’m wondering if there’s been a tip off to police who combed through emails received by Reform apparently. This person has been described as a loner, a hermit type, who didn’t go out and didn’t work. Possibly groomed online maybe?
Also Ann Widdecombe’s bungalow was featured on a programme a few days ago called the Yorkshire auction house, or similar. She took the presenter all round her bungalow, all broadcast on national tv. Very unwise when you have these nutters out there just waiting to be triggered. Very concerning.
.
Crikey. I was wondering how someone would know the layout of her house.

Not quite. The police had said earlier that they had no evidence at that point to suggest it was terrorist related. They at no stage said that they knew it was not.
I think you are wrong on both counts, but I have neither the time or energy to look further into it right now.
I’m right on both counts, I check before I post. The most they said was that they had found no evidence so far, and that they remained open minded about the motive.

According to an article in the press (I don’t know where the press got its information from), the tv show that featured Ann's house is unlikely to have had any bearing on her death. In other words, it was just a coincidence that it was shown recently.
Hopefully it'll all become clear during any subsequent court case. It really is rather baffling.
Strange coincidence imo.

Strange coincidence imo.
It is.
I suppose it depends on whether the suspect saw it or not. It was on Quest TV channel, not one I personally watch, but he may have done.
At midday today the Head of National Terrorism said: "Building on the progress made by our colleagues in the Devon and Cornwall Police we now have new information and evidence meaning Counter Terrorism are leading the investigation."
I infer from that that the D &C police gathered information which now indicate that the crime could be considered Terrorism.
Previously there was insufficient evidence to support that, as the police made clear.
Not concealing or 'gaslighting' information, simply verifying it.

If he was a stay at home channel hopper like me he might have done. It’s the sort of programme I end up watching. I would have had no idea where she lived unless I’d come across a programme like that.
To be fair to the police, they’ve thrown everything at it. How often is an arrest made that quickly unless it’s somebody known to the victim like an ex partner that type of thing.
Initially they thought it was a burglary gone wrong, which most would think too. As more was revealed it became evident it was something more.
I wondered about that tv programme because it’s called the Yorkshire auction house and this lunatic comes from Yorkshire but indeed it could be coincidence. Time will tell.

It is being discussed on GB news[I hear the sighs from here], the way the Police were saying no reason to suggest Political Motivation and now the National Terrorsim is involved.
Why did the Police say no, when looks like they actually did not know.
Casdon "I check before I post".
All sources everywhere?
What eazybee said is echoing what I said fancythat, so I’m not sure why you’re taking issue with me. As I said earlier on the thread, I read the news on the main TV channels, particularly the actual statements from the police, but I don’t bother with the gossip and speculation in the rest of the media, which is so often proved inaccurate.
Casdon you are right and wrong in my opinion.
Yes the Police said this and that.
But looks like they were wrong. Which means that what Primrose said was correct.
Which means your not quite is wrong.
An ex-Labour candidate and university employee is being investigated after saying she hoped AW suffered a very painful death.
Quote:
A transgender former Labour candidate who celebrated the death of Ann Widdecombe and prayed she had 'screamed in agony' is now being investigated over the comments.
Heather Herbert, a web developer at Aberdeen University, relished in the 'good news' of the former Tory MP's death in a vile post on BlueSky. She added: 'I hope she was handcuffed to the bed as she screamed in agony.'
Check out the face of this person, ugly inside and out!
I am quite speechless at how evil and cruel some people are. She has a twisted mind and shouldn't be allowed to work at a university or anywhere near young people.
Out of interest, what do you consider to be the "main TV channels"?
I am quite speechless at how evil and cruel some people are
Twas always thus.
I never underestimate this in life.

Completely baffling and how can they possibly know this 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
It’s all very bizarre!

They should be extremely ashamed at her awful awful comments.
I won’t read the details but I truly hope they are both arrested and dismissed from their job role.
I wouldn’t want such a person near me or my family or any person frankly.
I feel that whoever made such sick and sadistic comments should be arrested for hate speech.
I really can’t imagine why anyone would say this.

It's not 'they' plural, it's one person, a transwoman.

I think the police should have initially kept very quiet about what they did or didn’t think about this murder.
All I will say is I hope that they’ve caught the right person, and Terrorism covers quite a large remit including political elements.
Whatever the reason it seems the act of a very evil and disturbed mind, and if indeed it turns out to be political, how very sad to pick on a retired MP in her own home!
Chesnut I cannot bring myself to use she in this instance so I’m using the pronoun they.
