Angela Rayner is a scrounger, grifter and shameless hypocrite.

So says Nadine Dorries who did hand back her severance pay of approx £17,000 whilst AR is refusing to give hers back. ND was given hers by mistake as those over 65 are not entitled to it but she did give it back.

This has been covered in all the papers and TV channels and I have yet to hear anybody say AR deserves to keep it.

I never actually knew about what led to GSM's being banned Doodledog. Thank you for the explanation.

Erm. But it could well be the wrong explanation!
It's a grey area to think you know.

Sometimes its about what is morally right , in a time when many are struggling to pay their fuel, water and food bills . The government that she is a part of are discussing abolishing the triple lock. It is not a good look , politicians generally need to learn to read the room.

AR would be a good laugh and good fun I am sure. Not sure she will make a reliable and trustworthy minister but then, who would, these days ?

I'm looking forward to the much needed social/affordable housing across the country.
Feeling humble is not the same as being humiliated or debased.

Feeling anything is not the same as being humiliated or debased, Plevey08. That person has autonomy and it's their feelings.

Belittling or demeaning someone in the way some newspapers and some Internet users do is an attempt to delegitimising opponents by attacking their identity rather than their arguments.

No, it isn't. This was a complex legal problem solved legally. Whose morals would you uphold? Yours? The man next doors? Mine?. The person who shouts the loudest? This was about the law and it was dealt with by the law.

It must be time for a new wooden spoon. The old one must be worn out by now.

I don't know why somebody's dress or trousers are of relevance.

This country is in such a mess one way and another.

Still, the OP got what they wanted I suppose.

I'm hoping the Bin can win.

AGAA4 Mon 27-Jul-26 08:11:32

The thread on the green trousers was used to demean and discredit Angela Rayner as this one has tried to do.

"How many times do I have to say that HMRC has seen the documents and found that she was not careless?"

You are SO patient!
I would have given up.

Thank you.

'says Nadine Dorries' sets the tone for this Thread.

doodledog’s explanation does sound correct though. I can remember GSM’s posts and was shocked at the time.

If they made the national press, and more than one she posted could well have done, then she indeed break the rules.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 27-Jul-26 08:24:59

GSM was banned on the thread about electric hair tongs appearing in Downton Abbey.

Vintagewhine Mon 27-Jul-26 08:26:42

I don't take notice of what Nadine Dorries says. She was in "I'm a celebrity" whilst she was a constituency MP, unable to vote or hold constituency meetings or even be contacted. Pot, kettle, black springs to mind!

Whitewavemark2 Mon 27-Jul-26 08:27:22

It occurs to me that this thread’s headline is ripe to be reported by the likes of the Mail etc.

Exactly.
So many people think they know, when actually they don't know!

I think humility is a quiet, internal and private process. Not one you compare or shout about

rafichagran Mon 27-Jul-26 08:30:16

Allsorts

No time for her, she is an embarrassment and a scrounger.

Rubbish, this is a working class woman from a poor back ground who was a carer to her Mother. She was done well to get where she is. She has no airs and graces.
I actually dont like Angela Rayner but saying she is a embarrassment is wrong. I think the snobbery to her is nasty and ignorant.

Maremia Mon 27-Jul-26 08:30:51

Primrose,
if there is a LAW that says AR was entitled to that payment, is that acceptable within,
'deserves to keep it'?

Plevey08 Mon 27-Jul-26 08:31:35

I'm off shopping now...looking for a trouser suit. Maybe a grey one, but certain shades of green are appealing 🤣

Oh, I don’t know. I have functioning wooden spoons which belonged to mt grandparents, so could be 100+ years old…

What continually surprises me is that the 1960s and 70s seem to have completely passed some posters by. Free love, rejection of class and regional stereotypes, rejection of Victorian morality, feminism, women’s independence, growing acceptance of diversity… It’s as though it never happened. Not even a teeny broadening of minds.

My problem with her is that she is under qualified for the position she holds. What experience does she have to be Housing Minister, twice she has been under investigation for ( you couldn't make it up) housing discrepancies.

Nonsense - what experience do any of the MPs have when they take up ministerial posts.

My DS works at a relatively high level in the EA and says there isn’t a single minister that has ever held that post who has had even a working understanding of the issues. Surprisingly though he said Gove has been the most successful at grasping some of the issues.
