I too like watching her on Jeremy Vine and the way she spoke such common sense. I think she will always be associated with her joyous time on Strictly too. I sure I read somewhere that there is going to be a public memorial service at a later date.

My son says he is probably going to stop watching the Jeremy Vine Show now because Anne was the most interesting and no nonsense person on there.

Yes I agree to a point. Maybe a nice pleasant day, but roasting hot 🥵 No.
My Granny buried her sister on a scorching hot day, that’s when she said she didn’t think it was right for someone so young to be having a burial in the red hot day (she was probably thinking out loud & meant they should be still alive, maybe enjoying the day, perhaps). Her sister was only 36. Breast cancer.
It’s just something that came to the forefront of my mind whilst watching the guests arriving.

DH is a chorister and sings there often. I always make a point of attending. An uplifting place.

Same here. My Mum always felt the cold. She was buried a week before Christmas in 2020 but it was mild and sunny.

I could not bear to think of her in the cold so I asked the funeral directors to wrap her in a big crochet throw I had made for her about a year earlier. It was in her favourite colours of pink, purple, lavender etc.

Everyone would have known who you meant MT62. Yes it was a tragic end to her life . I didn't know her funeral was today. Don't let a spelling problem worry you. With it being a private funeral I'm sure those who mourned her loss cared very much.

It was a surprisingly muted affair but that’s understandable.
I think most of us can’t get our heads around why she was murdered.

I saw a snippet. Just family and friends etc arriving dressed in black.

It was a private, family ceremony.

I suspect many saw this and acknowledged the fact it was AW's funeral.

But there isn't really anything significant to comment on so I'm not surprised no-one thought to make a thread about it MT62.

We have friends coming to stay this weekend that were here close neighbours and knew her reasonably well.

I’m sure they will tell us all they know.

She was often at our son’s school in Lancashire giving talks and more than once for prize giving, she was very popular.

A lovely lady with a wicked sense of humour.

The thing is, on a site where accuracy, stats, evidence etc are demanded by so many posters, it's inevitable that other posters will automatically correct mistakes in names and dates.

I didn’t know that much about her but watched a couple of programmes with her in them, & found I liked her no-nonsense approach to life.
Shame what happened to her.
Glad she got a nice send off in a respectful manner.

Such a sad end to what was an impressive life.
