Does Farage ever stop (breaking rules)

So up popped my news this morning, yesterday Farage was sworn in (again), then, on the very first day of Parliament this session, went up onto the roof and filmed a social media. Completely against the rules, for extremely obvious reasons.

What is wrong with this man? Surely he, out of everyone, understands the meaning of national security?

MawsRosie Fri 04-Sept-26 17:22:00

Might Farage’s days be numbered?
Or is he somehow going to slither his way out of the latest financial scandal?
Two senior Reform officials have been thrown under the bus already but can Nige save his own skin?
I do hope not.

His speech is the stuff of lunacy 😮😮

LemonJam Fri 04-Sept-26 19:13:52

If his speech was originally designed to portray himself as the next PM, it didn't- just made him look sleazy. Plus using his won words- "boring, boring, boring".

LemonJam Fri 04-Sept-26 19:22:18

Nadine Norris on Channel 4 - she said 'you have to remember Reform is just an emerging party. She said of Orr and Jukes "they didn't know the law" Channel 4 "do you accept what they talked about was illegal? "No but..I am not sure they knew the potential of what they were discussing was illegal"

She's still being absolutely skewered- she's sounding delusional.

If members of Reform don’t know what is legal and what isn’t they shouldn’t be serving politicians. End of.

Dorries has always been delusional. Is she still cheer leading for Boris.

😂😂😂😂 What I loved most was the clearly “fake” security “concerns” and a big burly bodyguard looking under the stage😂😂😂😂

No, she’s telling all what a good bloke Farage is! Mad old loon!

Even Nadine Norris has just made clear she doesn't understand the law herself!

It is irrelevant that money didn't change hands- the conspiracy of Orr and Jukes representing Reform UK to secure illegal funding for the polls is the problem. The evidence of their conspiracy is clear. Further Farage was shown on film thanking both the US father and the son for their financial contribution by agreeing to Orr and Juke's conspiracy.

Norris just relied on her claim that as no many changed hands nothing illegal took place- and tried her best to discredit Channel 4. It didn't work. Then she took off her ear piece and escaped....

I don’t think he will be unscathed, once the seeds of doubt are in people’s minds they become more critical.

I really want to believe that but based on some of the voters in both Clacton and Boston/Skegness, if I’m being really blunt, I truly don’t believe that “critical thinking” is very high on their agenda.

Fallingstar Fri 04-Sept-26 19:56:03

What I don’t get is how his supporters - and there seemed to be a fair crowd of them gathering to hear their leader - can square a circle when it comes to all the investigations taking place with regard to dodgy dealings with donors, and Farage’s lame attempts to brush it all under the carpet. Reminds me of Trump supporters, it is as if they are prepared to countenance any shenanigans, even illegal shenanigans, in order to validate their own prejudices. I remember Trump boasting that he could shoot a man dead and his supporters would still follow him. I can believe it.

Maybe I shouldn't joke but today has been comedy gold from the Farage camp especially from Nadine Dorries who claims Reform has only existed as a party for 18 months.

Did anyone else notice a General Election in July 2024? Does she not know that Reform is just the Brexit Party with another name (changed in January 2021) and stood candidates in the 2023 local elections?

Breaking news. She has also revealed that Zia Yusuf is a crazy genius whose brain is too big for his head.

In my opinion the core support and the people who voted Reform at the last election cross over, but without the percentage of floaters who came over from other parties because they thought Reform was a good bet, I don’t think the core is large enough to make an impact. The areas you mention are the Reform heartlands, but if they can’t win over floaters elsewhere in the country they won’t be elected.

Graphite Fri 04-Sept-26 20:46:01

I can't resist sharing this - a selection of Reform supporters at conference.

Rumour has it James Orr would have been asking JL Partners to put a poll in the field for Reform and then push it to the Telegraph about how many people voted Leave over washing machine voltage.

Front page story - or would have but now Orr is lying under a bus with Jukes and can't solicit American money to pay for it.

Farage is a loathsome dishonest agitator who stirs up a mob mentality in our worst citizens while claiming to have nothing to do with the fallout.
Scary thing is how some people still think he has the welfare and betterment of the country at heart! He’s done nothing good for his own constituency yet they think he will do something good for the whole country!

It’s totally bonkers and somehow “cultish”

I agree with Fallingstar, the hard-core Trump and Farage supporters are carbon copies of each other and literally nothing these two can do can ever be wrong.

Was it not the late, great, Dennis Skinner, who said " When posh people get into trouble, they sack the servants".
This seems to be the strategy in place, here .

I refer honorable GN members to my previous posts on this matter. So we can compare previous times to today, where we have the depression followed by Hitler and Mosley. Today we have ,of course, Trump and Farage. Naturally Farage has gained more ideas on how to lie and cheat by going over to see how DT does it ( I wonder if that what they meant by getting the DT's?) but I have taken a leaf out of Trumps book and would like to announce to those who have not seen my edict themselves that as according to him it is now Lake America, I am following his ideas myself.

So now I am announcing that the place that used to be called I think the oval office, or something is of course now known as The National Lunatic Asylum, and already has the person living there who most merits being there. Farage has to go for a top up to his own narcististic lies and selfdelusion. I am considering doing a bit of family research and see which branch of Oswald Mosley s family Farage comes from.

But really as a teacher and parent I do feel we should apply the normal sensible rules to silly little boys who want to take all the attention, tell lies , whine about it not being fair and generally move around shouting " look at me! look at me!. We firmly ignore them. Do what is proved to work with such people. Ignore them, turn your back on them, when they start to stamp and demand attention, turn and speak to someone else, take no notice of them at all. If they have any written lies just calmly rip them and put them in the bin and carry on with what you are doing. If the press totally refused to print anything about their conference being taken at the wrong time, they would gain nothing at all from their ridiculous rubbish. I am sure that somewhere in westminster their must be the adult equivalent of the naughty seat and Farage could be firmly placed there and the door shut so that we could all ignore his lies and rubbish and get on with our lives. Oh well .even the rather stupid people who actually have believed a lot of his racist rubbish , will come to the realization of what he is like , we just let him use enough rope to hang himself. .Ah yes so we were talking about having a day out, meeting with friends etc .Do carry on!

Yes, with absolute certainty, me too. But I think this assumption applies to the more 'dedicated' supporters.

If someone I hugely admired did something I believed to be morally wrong, I know I'd look for the reason why. I think it's human nature to do that.

But, I do believe that many who support Trump are cultists and that he and the whole MAGA ideology are so inherently ingrained in their psyche/identity that they would have to, somehow, justify such an act; whereas those of a more rational mind would be emotionally and intellectually prepared to be disillusioned and accept they were 'let down'.

I have listened to a recording of a Trump-supporting evangelical Christian nationalist condone rape by asserting that women wearing what he considered to be provocative clothing were 'asking for it'. He concluded his rant against women wearing anything other than (again, in his considered opinion) appropriate clothing, by pleading with fierce enthusiasm and passion that, "a man's a man, a man's a man".

I've also listened to another dedicated Trump supporter during an interview, question the principle of 'underage sex' by suggesting that age 14 for example, is simply a modern ball-park number. When the individual interviewing him remained silent, he continued to roll-out his justification for, basically, men legitimately having sex with a 14 year old girl. The subject matter of the interview was the Epstein Files, and the man being interviewed was attempting to play down the 'fuss' being made about them...

My point is that I'd be surprised if both the above individuals couldn't find a justifiable reason for the hypothetical shooting of someone on Fifth Avenue by Trump.

And before anyone accuses me of insulting Trump supporters - I'm not. It's a fact that he's losing support as they begin to feel the pinch from his executive orders and policies, they will not blindly follow him as reality dawns on them. But he does also have a cult following.

There might be similarities between Trump and Farage but, we are not America and Farage is far too savvy to become Trump personified. I think he borrows from the cultism of Trumpism, but he has an awareness that totally evades Trump, and I think the British are far more distrusting and sceptical by nature than their American counterparts. Mostly.

My Facebook thread showed a video of the protesters during Farrage speech at conference being evicted. It was awful, one young woman grabbed by her arms and legs being carried out, while conference attendees screamed abuse, pulled her hair, aimed punches. Rather than a gathering of those who claim to support free speech, it was more like a gathering at the foot of the guillotine

Whitewavemark2 Sat 05-Sept-26 15:21:36

I watched the video Farage’s face as he watched the violence perpetrated on the women, was one of delight.

According to the BBC Farage has said his family are ‘begging him to leave politics’, there’s his out.

Farage response reported 15.42 today:

Nigel Farage has hit back at criticism over the treatment of protesters at the Reform UK conference, calling it utter nonsense and accusing his critics of taking a one-sided view.

West Midlands police has asked a female protester to come forward after footage appeared to show her being manhandled and having her hair pulled by a Reform audience member as she was removed from the conference yesterday.

Speaking to broadcasters, Farage said: “It’s all one way, isn’t it? I can have milkshakes chucked in my face, be bashed over the head with placards and that’s all fine. That’s absolutely fine. (well actually it wasn’t fine the woman was arrested, prosecuted and sentenced).

Yet, well, we have a big event that people have paid a lot of money to come to and we get people there trying to disrupt it and we remove them. Suddenly we’re in the wrong. Utter nonsense

He added: “This is just also one sided. It is ridiculous. There were people there trying to disrupt our conference. We always have them. We always have them and we remove them quickly and expeditiously.”
