Yes, the POTUS who wants to call Lake Ontario ‘Lake America’ now wants to call the Straits of Hormuz ‘Trump Straits’.
He obviously hasn’t yet reached peak stupid.

Trump did a dump

I rather think people still refer to eg Lake Ontario as such along with all his other renames using the originals! I think he is currently in cahoots with the Argentine PM with regard to the Falklands, watch that space!

Whatever next!! 🙄

Very funny!!!!

Julest Mon 07-Sept-26 16:47:44

Unfortunately it looks as if it’s Lake America now!!!

Today he is trying to rename New Mexico. angry

The MapQuest App was the number 2 download in the US after Apple and Google Maps changed the name of Lake Ontario.

It's actually embarrassing at this point.

Um, hasn’t he more important things to worry about such as the war in Iran and the Epstein files?

JenniRen Mon 07-Sept-26 21:16:17

Diversionary tactics.
Lake Squirrel.

No. That's for the rest of us to worry about. Or something like that, probably.

I wonder if, when he was small, his mummy refused to buy him a plaque for the door to his bedroom saying "Donald's Room".
Do you think that might be at the root of this?

Good morning. Another day, another whatever this is. Apparently Iceland is having words with the Ambassadors.

Wyllow3 Thu 10-Sept-26 01:09:16

Well...erm...
on the news today was about Republicans up for the vote not going to the "Trmp mid term" "conference" as they consider it wiser to stay home and campaign for themselves in their own state not under the "brand".

I must say, Trump didn't look well at all. My- is he messing up worse and worse on Iran. Under statement of the year.

Roll on the United States of Britain. You need to reclaim your territory to save the people from insanity.

Dickens Thu 10-Sept-26 06:27:22

I've read comments from people on SM sites saying that they wished Trump could be "our leader" as he'd "sort things out" here in the UK. Also heard one or two suggest we need "someone like him" to 'take charge'.

I never assume that those with an opposing view to my own are lacking in the IQ department but I'd definitely make an exception here.

Of course, we have Farage - and I think he's shifty and devious... but he's not stupid. If he were to start rambling inarticulately and metaphorically continually patting himself on the back in the way that Trump does, I believe that even his erstwhile followers would start backing away.

I think and hope I'm right that there's something in the British 'psyche' that's quite different to that in our American cousins.

Wyllow3 Thu 10-Sept-26 08:13:51

I think you are right on that score.

Dickens Thu 10-Sept-26 10:49:39

I think you are right on that score.

I think what I'm trying to say is that British voters, generally, are more sceptical than their American counterparts, regardless of which party they vote for.

Any party leader behaving in the way Trump behaves - saying the - sometimes pure gobbledegook - things he says; trashing other countries, disrespecting veterans/reporters/women, etc - I believe would be got rid of rather quickly. We demote them for far less...

Donny already owns parts of Scotland.
The Trump Estate and Trumpberry.

I am watching Reforms popularity in the UK and am horrified. I am hoping you all don't end up like we are.

Perhaps Trump supporters would care to offer their insights?

I think they've left the building...

Plevey08 Fri 11-Sept-26 16:49:59

I think of Farage as a mini Trump.

Trump is going to Ireland this wkd for the golf, apparently 1 in 10 Americans say they have Irish heritage.
Watch out Ireland.

Fallingstar Fri 11-Sept-26 18:25:56

Imaround you would think that voters who support Farage et al would look at what is happening in the US with Trump and rather vote for a stuffed parrot than Reform but there is no accounting for how voters mind’s work or don’t work.

Wyllow3 Sat 12-Sept-26 10:27:45

In a way it's clear to me. its whether people read and have enough information to make decisions, and even then...

Not knocking my NN at all, she's a nice lady, but I know she doesnt go online and gets only the DM and watches GB TV or soaps. Now nothing wrong with that - unless they are your only source of information.

And again, even if informed....for example, people told and shown proof as in reliable sources that the incoming irregular migration is 43/ down.
And they refuse to believe it, it doesn't fit their inner narratives of how things actually are.

I was at an international Quaker Zoom last night and it being the awful sad anniversary of 9/11 discussion turned to matters USA. And comments on Trump as in whinging manipulative and bribing lies...

And its the similarity in tone that strikes me: if someone points out your re doing someone/lying/illegal then turn it around to Blame - remove the complainants, whinge about how they are getting at you, faux dignity - the works, just a far lesser degree than Trump, but to keep under observation - hard, clear, observation.

I just turned on the tv and there he is, making a speech in Ireland.
I've listened for about 10 minutes and the foremost thought in my mind is "How the hell do the folks in the audience stay awake?"
That droning voice spouting the same old bullshit, going on and on and on........
Unbelievable that anyone could even contemplate voting for him.

Commonground Sat 12-Sept-26 12:28:43

I'm sitting here open mouthed, he just called the Irish "vicious bastards "
