As it's been confirmed that pensioners whose sole income is the basic or new state pension will not be required to pay tax on it, it seems good time to remind people about claiming Pension Credit.
The way the DWP calculates eligable income is different to the calculation for tax . Pension Credit can include such things as eligible housing service charges, etc. This can make a difference. It's not worth second guessing this so do claim and see what they say.
