What would an ideal far right country look right to those who would vote Reform?

I’m not sure.

I know how reforms policies are beginning to shape up, but not clear what a reform voter hopes for?

There was something about the RNLI on Facebook just now.
A screenshot of a post from Farage.
So, pinch of 🧂,
'Farage would stop the lifeboats from rescuing dingy people in danger.'
Will keep looking for other sources to see if this is bogus, or floats.

This has been discussed before but spokespeople for the RNLI have stated that they are a registered charity and will continue to do what they have always done and what donors expect them to do - to save the lives of those in peril on the sea. Their remit is not to act as political pawns.

LemonJam Tue 08-Sept-26 13:33:46

Good for the RNLI 👏

Lovetopaint037 Tue 08-Sept-26 13:52:02

Not heard what their intentions are regarding the NHS. Last I heard was their desire to sell it off to the private sector. So we will be like America. No wonder Farage is happy to accept American donations in an underhand fashion. America will be desperate to get into any privatisation that this country has to offer. My dd has for the last year been admitted on more than occasion to a wonderful NHS hospital in Norfolk {the James Paget University Hospital. They have saved her life and given her the greatest care. I shudder to think what would have happened without the NHS. Think carefully what you may give up in exchange for unfounded plans to stop the boats. Think carefully if you think Farage and Co are the answer to the problems we have. Just because it would give them a chance to show what they can do is a horrifying prospect. As said before the image of that old man attacking the young woman who dared to ask about the donations they were receiving. Remember Farage making light of it and joking.

vegansrock Tue 08-Sept-26 13:52:53

RNLI volunteers are being attacked by some of the balaclava blackshirt mob - chilling.
Aren't they going to repeal all equalities legislation so women can be sacked for pregnancy, maternity pay, PIP etc will be a thing of the past, NHS dismantled etc?

LemonJam Tue 08-Sept-26 13:59:14

Shame on those protesters- yes chilling. Reform say they plan to take the UK out of ECHR, yet has not clarified what would be the replacement to protect rights already enjoyed by UK citizens currently protected. That does raise uncertainty and concern about existing maternity and disability rights and welfare eligibility for sure.

Well said Lovetopaint, and I have similar reason to be eternally grateful to the NHS and share your determination that we mustn’t risk losing not lose it.

Delila Tue 08-Sept-26 14:29:24

Sorry, should have said we mustn’t risk losing it.

As I understand it, it is the running of NHS facilities that would be privatised, not the NHS itself. We will still have a free national heath system.

Ilovecheese Tue 08-Sept-26 15:52:59

I suggested that the sort of society that a Reform voter hopes for would be rather like a Miss Read novel.
I think that the Reform supporters believe that that sort of society would happen if only they could stop other people from wanting to live here.
I also think that that was what they hoped would happen if we could only leave the EU.

If there were no more small boat crossings, then the blame for an imperfect society would fall on welfare claimants.
Reform supporters, in my opinion are looking for an idealised (and homogenous) society.

Ah yes, because our utilities are so much better after privatisation. We would soon start being asked for a little top up here and a little top up there, until the whole service would be like America has.

Maremia Tue 08-Sept-26 16:02:58

Yes, Ilovecheese, just like our water supplies.

I don’t think it is goady, posters are trying to discover what kind of policies Reform are going to try to implement if in power.
Some have tried to ascertain this or to guess, but it would be great if someone actually knows what they stand for apart from small boats.

There’s more chance of finding out what policies Reform are likely to enact by googling and a bit of online research than asking/ demanding that Reform voting or those thinking of voting Reform posters tell you.

I was going to do a search on FB but then thought if I searched for Farage he might start popping up on my FB feed every day. Do you have a quote, Maremia, please?

The RNLI does not discriminate when someone is in peril.
Farage could not do that anyway; it is a charity run by volunteers, not a Government Department.

I think the OP was asking in what way Reform voters believe they will be better off with Reform.
What policies will work in their favour and how their lives will improve. Nobody has answered these questions when asked many times before.

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 08-Sept-26 16:33:34

Oreo, I did reference a recent statement from Reform regarding the raising of the income tax threshold. I was hoping for some elucidation on how this might work.
I was asking a question, not demanding anything.

I understand but how are GN posters supposed to know?

I think it’s a goady thread,too .

It’s a VERY goady thread and not worth wasting any time on.

Will have to go back onto Facebook to find it JenniRen.
Will post once I find it. Heading out soon, so could be tomorrow.

Who knows?

Even if a Party is elected into Government, their decisions do not always reflect what was in their manifesto.
For instance, the Labour Party Manifesto did not include some of the changes to tax which were announced soon afterwards, nor removal of the WFA.

Presumably the previous Tory Government did the same.

It's like asking how long is a piece of string.

That’s not my understanding at all.

My understanding is Farage favours the USA model and health insurance.

Cossy Tue 08-Sept-26 18:14:55

Because Oreo one might assume that if someone has a particular party that they are supporting that they might also know more about how their policies might work in practice. ?

Are you actually serious?
I’m a Labour voter but don’t know, alongside very many other voters how their policies will work out in practice.

I am guessing, something like a Miss Read novel?

That's post-acopolypse, not far-right. You can't turn the clock back unless nature turns it back for you.

I am once again in A&E with my heart problems and have been here overnight. I am on a trolley in a corridor. About 70%+ of the staff are not white British. They have all been unfailingly polite and considerate in spite of the pressure they are under.

How does this play out in Farage World?
