Trump is giving money to win votes in the mid terms

How can he prove they voted for him?

Has anyone thought to ask him "show us your money first!"

Politicians, of any party, are extremely adept at making extravagant promises and after the polls have been and gone they ALWAYS say "sorry, but it's jam tomorrow folks......"

Never, ever today.

He is desperate lol.

I don't know but presume if he gets the numbers he wants he will then say taxes will be lowered some time in the future probably never.
I hope they don't fall for this trick.

Surely this is plain bribery, and will be challenged in court?

Any news on the DOGE cheques?

Yes but no but.
It’s not actual cash to be sent to voters😄 it’s a promise to lower taxes in the future or similar, a bit like all politicians say in their manifesto’s to get the populace to vote for them.
It’s meant as a vote catcher but it’s doubtful it will do him much good anyway.

The US already has a huge debt problem. This will backfire as his supprters don't need bribes and the uncommitted will see this for what it is, desperation!

Going on how many voted for Trump in 2024, which was 77 million, it would cost $385 billion to pay them all $5000. There may not be so many Republican voters in the mid terms of course but this gives an idea of the figure involved. 🥺

That rings true.

Well spotted Oreo.

Whatever and however it’s being “sold”, it’s sounds incredibly like a “bribe” and surely even in America this isn’t allowed?

It's legal for him to lower taxes as I said in the OP.
As Trump has made sweeping promises before - he will not get involved in wars with other countries hopefully Americans will see how hollow his promises are.

You couldn’t make him up. Reminds me of snake oil salesmen in those old cowboy movies

That is all very misleading.

It is for every adult not just for his supporters

Well, it sounds like a cash reward!

Yes. He can't just lower taxes for some.

He said he would give it to every adult person in America. It doesn’t matter who has voted for him so long as the Republicans get reelected. This promise is as ridiculous as so many of his other promises. He can’t just give millions of dollars away. The suggestion that Americans will be better off by 5 thousand dollars is probably what he claims will be through the economy or taxation.

So what he is actually saying is just like many politicians before an election “vote for me and I will lower tax”

So big storm in tea cup methinks. It is up to the voter to believe him or not.

I think because he has promised 5000 dollars it sounds more appealing to people who are hard up for money.
It's sneaky and underhand.

Why wait until after the election? Why not cut the taxes now?

I listened to this today, its amazing, can you imagine this happening in the UK or Ireland, or anywhere in Europe, I believe its every american citizen if he gets in, it gets more bizarre

I thought he ment if every state voted Republican. Not going to happen but will fuel further division between Maga and Democrats
