Trump is giving money to win votes in the mid terms

Trump has promised to give $5000 to every American who votes for him in the mid terms.
This will cost trillions of dollars. It is not legal to give cash but he could reduce taxes which is.

So why bring it up unless to belittle someone? Passive aggressiveness at its finest. “I don’t mean to say, but ….”

Trump acolyte then?

Margs Fri 11-Sept-26 05:49:37

Let's never forget that when a very senior politician died last year the appalling Trump declared on television that he was "glad he's dead".

Fit to be Leader of the Free World?

Whataboutism

nanna8 Fri 11-Sept-26 06:58:48

He’s a silly old b. What a pity, he could have been so good as the ‘leader’ of the western world. Ah well.

Biden should've been demoted long before he actually was - but he was continually wheeled out by the Dems.

This is exactly what the GOP are doing.

There's a moral in here somewhere... maybe it's about removing the reins of power from old men when it becomes apparent that they are succumbing to the frailties of mind and body, regardless of the party they lead?

To not do so, makes those who prop up and support these elderly men in order to protect their positions and interests, more culpable.

I have to say though that mocking Trump for his alleged inability to control his bowels - a condition significant numbers of individuals suffer from - is, IMO, in bad taste. There's plenty of legitimate ammunition to use against the man without resorting to that level of debate.

Well said Dickens you expressed that body shaming so much better than I did.

The whole strategy of calling Trump names whilst not providing a viable alternative is doomed to failure, it wont work with Reform either.

Harris27 Fri 11-Sept-26 09:33:44

It’s just palin bribery he must be worried.

Harris27 Fri 11-Sept-26 09:33:58

Plain bribery sorry.

Casdon Fri 11-Sept-26 10:02:50

I don’t understand what you’re saying Galaxy. The downfall of an individual politician is not the end of a political party they lead.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 11-Sept-26 10:09:54

The only thing we do know about trumps gut is that he suffers diverticulitis. Nothing else is established.

Given his apparent diet it isn’t surprising that he may well suffer from flatulence.

The whole strategy of calling Trump names whilst not providing a viable alternative is doomed to failure, it wont work with Reform either.

In fact, it has the opposite effect.

Like children, if you tell them not to do something, the natural instinct is to do the opposite.

But like I said elsewhere, will that make people stop doing it? Absolutely not.

fancythat Fri 11-Sept-26 10:32:28

A bit like pushing a young person towards a "bad" boyfriend.

fancythat Fri 11-Sept-26 10:32:46

Or girlfriend.

Yes. He can't just lower taxes for some.

yet....

MibsXX Sat 12-Sept-26 14:17:36

One question though, I thought US presidents could only be in office twice??

How can he prove they voted for him?

I don't know but presume if he gets the numbers he wants he will then say taxes will be lowered some time in the future probably never.
I hope they don't fall for this trick.

He doesn't need to know, he said if he wins the mid terms etc then they'll all get it, so the dissenters could get the money anyway. Let's just hope they come to their senses and get rid of him asap and let the world try and sort out his mess.

Note: I read that narcissist would only permit the spending of the 5.000 USD at his Mar Lago Boutique !!!!!!!!!!

This by the way is 100% illegal !!!

So far, the Democrats have won the Senate & House of Representatives; however, there are still votes that require counting through most of September.

icanhandthemback Sat 12-Sept-26 16:30:37

It is just another misleading tactic for Trump to hold on to Congress in the Mid Terms. It is an empty promise like most of his promises but if people believe him, they almost deserve the disappointment they get when they vote for him. The biggest worry if they do is that he will cause more mayhem. I find his rhetoric on the Falkland Islands and Ireland more disturbing than this attempt at deluding his supporters. He must be the only person who feels that other countries should "give back" territories whilst he is threatening peaceful countries like Canada and Greenland let alone less peaceful Iran.

Is this not what they all do when they promise this, that and the other before election day. How many of the things promised to us has been fulfilled in the last few elections? Take Brexit, they used every bribe they could think of. so we are no better on that score. He has just been even more crafty with making it sound like he is offering cash tin hand to every household.

Kathmaggie Sat 12-Sept-26 17:01:24

Have all his deluded voters still not realised what a narcissist and quite frankly unhinged man he is?
His behaviour is dangerous and embarrassing

To a degree but I think he's a bit beyond the average politician.

IMO Trump is dangerously to America and to world peace. I’m no fan of extremist blaming of anyone whose politics we/the individual disagrees with but Trump genuinely scares me. I do not see him in any way as passive aggressive. Hes openly aggressive and a disrupter.
He has no shame, operates as President like a snake oil salesman or a corrupt property developer. His character seems to be absent ant integrity, I’m astonished by his shameless use of his Presidency to enrich himself abd his family

It’s Shakespearean or reflects the many wonderful Greek Gods mythologies. It’s totally lacking in integrity

DrWatson Sat 12-Sept-26 20:47:57

For Jane - he said EVERYONE. That's about 270mill adults. And USA doesn't have that kind of money. Not that a mutiple fraud and liar would stop to work it out!

Delene100 Sat 12-Sept-26 21:18:27

Trump's bribery of voters sounds like tactics used in a banana republic style of luring voters. That is, buy them a meal and they will vote for you.
