Telegraph and Reform

There is a report describing the editorial staff as being very uneasy over the relationship between Reform and the Telegraph.

It is thought that Farage is using it as a vehicle to try to report a more “sympathetic” story to pre-empt what is a real issue for reform in the news.

These problematic stories are coming thick snd fast - as we are aware.

Telegraph staff said that their journalism was being undermined by Farage, and the Telegraphs close links to Reform.

The Telegraph has traditionally always supported the Tories, but this has been less in evidence.

Farage also writes for The Telegraph, which though quite right leaning, used to be a good source of news.

Our country is turning into a pathetic pitiful mess and i don’t mean because of migrant issues!

It’s doesn’t lessen the issues around AS arriving en masse, nor the problems of places like Piddington, which are real and require resolving,

However, like it or not, attempts to control our politics and media by political parties receiving funding from dubious billionaires brings us closer and closer to Trump and Musk realities.

I, for one, simply deplore this.

To the others, who support Reform and Restore, I can only say, be very careful what you wish for!

Right now we have no choice, unless we vote for change the UK is finished as we know it. Labour are destroying our lives but by bit, they are all Fabian Society members 😱 all following the same agenda.

So yes be very careful who you vote for, there's talk of a GE being called on 15th November because Burnham knows he is sinking fast, he will hold off on the budget because of the GE, the budget is set to rise all taxes, crushing the workers (again) and helping anyone that doesn't work or here illegally.
We have to vote for something different, so yes be very careful what you wish for.
We are in this mess because remember the last election our left wing media were all chanting ' anyone but the Tories' and here we are , in the toilet. Thanks to Labour.

I so agree with this 👏👏👏👏😂

A GE being called immediately after the budget would be a surprise, is it credible ?.
I don't see tax rises for workers, there are plenty of other options, CGT, IHT even VAT, that would yield big revenue, so no I don't expect an early election.

Why should we all be taxed more though? We already pay a lot. Our local council tax is eye watering just because we had the cheek to buy a new build!

In Greece tobacco is cheap because of low tax, although I am a non smoker, but I did notice it.

Oh I agree taxes are high but if we want a better NHS, Care services and Water Quality they gave to go up, there has to be less waste too but that alone isnt going to be enough.

Its always the argument given about wanting better services but do we get better services when taxes increase? I suspect not?

How would Farage fund improvements to our services?

Actually, under a Labour govt when paying our share of taxes, we do get better services.

How many things closed or were shrunk during the party of low taxes, the Tories!

SureStart and children’s centres - disappeared completely or many shut.

Family Workers within Local Councils, the tier below Children’s Social Services, cut.

Youth Offending - cut
Youth Workers and Youth Clubs - cut
Community Centres - cut
Drug and Alcohol rehab services - closed and cut.

Social Housing sold off not replaced

Public Utilities sold
British Rail sold

Graphite How are Labour ruining our lives? You do know they have barely been in power in the last two decades? I have no knowledge of any Labour Party members inciting social unrest, out and out racism or street riots. I cannot see any evidence of Labour preying on the undereducated to get them to blame migrants for everything wrong in their lives. I know Labour did not push for Brexit, the worst mistake this country has made in a long time.
Do enlightened us all. Maybe you think that hanging flags off lamp posts and attacking our RNLI are fantastic initiatives that help our country?

I agree with everything you’ve stated.

However, it was not Graphite who stated Labour are ruining our country, though I too would love to see precisely how Labour are currently ruining our lives.

I can give precise examples of how lives were ruined under the Tories.

Mental Health Services being culled and “care in the community” certainly ruined a lot of lives.

Selling of council houses and not ring-fencing the proceeds to our use new stock.

Freezing the personal tax allowance.

Freezing Public Sector salaries.

Closing some 1,000 SureStart Centres.

Instigating Brexit.

I was personally directly impacted by at least two of the things on the list above and those things above are simply those that came to me within 3 minutes. I have no doubt that there are many more.

David49 Thu 24-Sept-26 13:25:20

The Tories made a great many changes that blatantly were vote catchers like sale of council houses. On top of that higher pension allowances and lower taxes creating a wider wealth gap than ever in the UK

There is a lot to reverse
