Anyone yet watched the ITV Reform “expose”

So, here I am with a cuppa, sausages (the dogs), one dozy spaniel and watching the ITV Reform expose.

I’m only 10 minutes in and frankly, it’s unbelievably shocking!

This isn’t hearsay, it’s not third hand, it’s not gossip! It’s pure horror! One year of following Reform supporters, councillors and MPs, obviously covertly.

If anyone who watches this still actually feels that any of this is right, I’d say frankly your moral compass needs a massive reset.

I can see exactly how and why Farage has followers, supporters in his droves. He’s utterly charming, eloquent, articulate and persuasive.

He’s also very clearly a sexist and racist agitator.

All this gawfawing and hee haw heeing is utterly and truly disgusting.

Agree.
But this forum is obsessed with Nigel Farage & Reform. Endless threads started about them. Why would anyone want to talk endlessly about these men?

That’s extraordinary.

Inthe top 50 threads current at time of writing this, two are about Reform.

Hardly an obsession then or endless threads Kadinsky. I wonder why you are so defensive about Reform UK 🤷‍♀️

Not unusual to start a thread asking has anyone yet watched a prime time TV programme exposing such high level concerns about a particular UK political party. What is more interesting is that rime time TV is able to expose so many concerns about one particular party move all others. If there was nothing of concern to expose prime time TV companies would definitely not be investing the cost and time of an undercover reporter for a year in order to put together a TV documentary.

And your point is?

JD Vance is well known to make rubbish, untrue and on occasion very nasty comments. Just look at how he spoke to Zelensky last year in the Oval Office. He's definitely not someone anyone could easily revere.

I find something rather disgusting about 'private undercover investigations' which are filmed and recorded secretly then edited for public consumption.
I also find something rather disgusting about the type of people who listen to them.

Clairefontaine Mon 19-Oct-26 18:12:23

Eazibee: with respect, I found it more disgusting to hear people making these comments.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 19-Oct-26 18:28:50

I am surprised that anyone is surprised at the undercover revelations.

Really?

Undercover operations are a huge part of investigative journalism and I’m surprised you’re not aware of this.

Undercover “stings” are not new and have been going on for decades.

They are extensively used by both our Police, within various departments and reporters/journalism.

How on earth do you think intel and info is gained?

If you find both my posts and myself “rather disgusting”, I can only suggest you refrain from both reading and commenting on my posts in the future. smile

Are you not in favour of the exposes of terrible care in care homes, hospitals, etc. either? Do you consider that the people who watch those are disgusting? It’s a common way of journalists finding out what is really going on behind the scenes in all sorts of scenarios.

Casdon Mon 19-Oct-26 20:30:08

I’ve just watched it. It was profoundly depressing, so many who say they want to murder, with no sense of shame. I think what surprised me was the breadth of the investigation, it included dozens of people.

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 19-Oct-26 20:30:36

eazybee, you sat that you fnd investigate journalism " disgusting", and viewers " disgusting".
May I know your views on those who chuckle over incest, and refer to "fingering" and " sniffing the seats" of their female colleagues?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 19-Oct-26 20:38:37

Oh well, I’ve just watched it. Utterly depressing.

I think that was the very worst issue for me.

Kandinsky, I see that you are wondering how many crimes were committed by the men who spoke so disgustingly about their colleagues..
Of course, I don't know, and nor do you.
However, if in my safeguarding role days, a colleague, or a child, reported hearing a man speaking of " sniffing " their seat, or wanting to " finger" them, you can be sure that my response would not have been " but I'm sure that they haven't committed as many crimes as the Rotherham grooming gang".

This is factually incorrect

Lets deal with the UK and the USA.

In the UK, apart from the small number of refugees and genuine asylum seekers, who have been accepted on compassionate grounds there were two but related reasons for our multicultural society.

1. Former commonwealth citizens were granted rights to entry to the UK following the end of Empire:

2. We actually invited and still invite immigrants in because they were and still are needed in the work force.

Apart from those who enter as qualified professionals (whose training was paid for in their countries of origin, a cheap deal for us, and depriving the country of origin of their skills

we needed them because they filled the lowest paid jobs that either UK citizens are unwilling to do, or because of the effect of the continuing rise in the UK population of those needing care, ie elderly or disabled, cannot be met due to our dropping birth rate

I hope that covers why we have a multicultural society and indeed any we still need one.

We ar not being compassionate, but practical, and often, we demand of them that they be compassionate in caring work, and we should have a great deal of gratitude for this. It's more clear in some areas of the country than others. of course. And a greater % of them than our white population gave their lives during, for example, Covid.

Yet, consistently, its on record that many second or third generation immigrants do better at school than their white counterparts, because of family ambition.

The USA is somewhat different and Vance's words even more ignorant. the USA is a nation of immigrants, who gained the land and wealth by killing or marginalising the American Indians or enslaving people from Africa.

Prominent politicians are themselves only second or third generation (white or ethnically diverse politicians)

Newer immigration was welcomed for the same reasons as the UK: cheap labour - lower prices in the shops. Notably in the farming and caring sectors. Large numbers were allowed in to work without citizenship.

As soon as it was perceived "too many" came over borders - in the UK and the USA - accurately or not - the marginalised were then persecuted and are persecuted as being "not us" "blame them".

And *this is what we are seeing at work in Reform and its supporters". Clacton voters, for example, need their carers and their hospital workers, and they do jobs that those same voters will not do at times.

Of course newcomers commit crime, but if you focus on them rather that home grown white criminals you are ignoring a culture of criminality that is actually growing.

You turn a blind eye to exactly what this thread is all about - Reform leaders themselves holding and speaking out appalling misogynist or racist words, ie, perpetrating that very misogyny and hatred of multiculturalism that are turning us in a divisive, blaming, society.

A society that has lost its sense of thankfulness for what we are being given and turns to blame, ^and a group of politicians actually contributing to that racism and horrible attitudes to women and children, in very ordinary homes up and down the country just at the point when women -since the 1970's especially were beginning to gain on matters of respect and appreciation of what we bring.

Its a philosophy that is damaging us as human beings: based, as I have pointed out above, on entirely false premises.

Wyllow3 So eloquently and factually put. Thank you thanks

BlessedArt Mon 19-Oct-26 22:14:36

Thank you Wyllow! Bigots like Vance and others of his ilk love to ignore history, context, and reality.

As for Kandinsky and eazybee being more offended by people exposing creeps like Reform and supporters, well, this is why women and children in this world will always be targets of sexual violence. Permissive attitudes are nearly as responsible as the perpetrators themselves. Complicit attitudes are tantamount to support. Deflection is tantamount to support.

As for talking out of both sides of your mouth being offended by grooming gangs and perfectly fine with these reform pigs, that’s taking hypocrisy to new heights. There is no middle ground when it comes to the behaviour of those exposed. You are either a decent person and condemn it or you aren’t decent. It’s that serious.

valdali Mon 19-Oct-26 22:20:18

Yes Wyllow, thanks for the post.

We should all have learnt these facts if we've been brought up in the UK over the last half-century, they are common knowledge. It's depressing that someone like Farage comes along with, basically,a white supremacy viewpoint and people go with his alternative reality version in such huge numbers. Just watched the programme, it is damning.
