Anti-semitism in the Media

I can’t copy the drawings published as they would be immediately deleted and for very good reason.

The Telegraph, Sun, Daily Mail and Times has printed exaggerated drawings of Polenski, depicted in the very worst drawings of a Jewish man.

How are they getting away with it?

And then ask ourselves about the causes and encouragement of anti-semitism.

They are awful caricatures. They bring the horrible drawings of Hitler's Germany to my mind

They know exactly what they are doing.

I understand you can't post the images here but without a link to at least see them I don't think I can make informed comment. I am frequently on these threads pointing out the abomination that is antisemitism, do these caricatures go further than the normal exaggerations? For the record I don't usually like any caricatures of anybody, they always seem to portray a cruel streak to me.

I found the cartoon on line. I agree, it’s classic anti semitism . Shocking

Just google Polenski images in say the DM or whatever.

They can also be seen on Bluesky.

They certainly do go further than the normal exaggerations.

Polenski’s skin has been darkened, his nose and teeth vastly exaggerated.

It is as bad as you might have seen in 1930{s Germany.

I haven’t seen these caricatures , so will not comment until I have.

I would add that I was disgusted when Priti Patel was depicted as a bull with a ring through her nose.

I was told by the majority of posters on the N & P threads, that it is just politics and political caricatures are as old as the hills

I too have seen them and think that they are a disgrace, interestingly the same media source often accuse him of anti semitism.

I think Polanski needs to learn to engage his brain before speaking and to be a little more honest in his speeches, for me the jury is still out re him in politics BUT the caricatures in the press are unacceptable,

I am deeply unimpressed with him - but this is no way to make that point. Sickening.

My friend and neighbour is Jewish and she has become very anxious over the last year or so. Very sad.

I guess it all goes hand in hand with the gradual rise of populism and the far right. How do we stop this creeping bigotry?

More stirring; making sure people see this cartoon.
The depiction of the two police officers concerns me more.

I am mindful of the Charlie Hebdo incident.

All politicians are apparently fair game as are their religions unless of course it involves Allah…

Our Jewish friends and their family feel increasingly disrespected and unsafe in the UK

If we are to stamp out hatred of any sort in the U.K. these things must be brought to our attention and called out for what they are because

“anti-semitic cartoons directly mimic and rely on historical anti-semitic tropes, often repurposing medieval and Nazi-era imagery to dehumanize Jews and promote conspiracy theories. These cartoons frequently employ tropes such as blood libel, exaggerated physical features, controlling global finance or politics, and sub-human depictions”

The cartoon of the two policemen were the least of them.

I haven't seen the cartoon of the two policeman, but the ones of Polenski were disgraceful. How on earth did they get past an editor?
