A good start in my opinion.

I wonder who might come in replacement ….hopefully not Millipede.

Mamie Mon 20-Jul-26 16:23:27

Sorry to see Peter Kyle go.

Silvershadow Mon 20-Jul-26 16:24:06

Now Lords Hermer and Timpson.

Thank goodness Rachel has gone but we may get somebody worse. "Rich" pensioners like us are sitting ducks.

Now Lords Hermer and Timpson.

Lord Timpson resigned. He wasn’t asked to leave 😥

On what do you base that comment?

sad another good guy but made the mistake of remaining loyal to Keir.

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 16:32:11

I’m just impatient to hear who’s coming not who’s going - many of those are obvious - well DL, RR and LH were

M0nica Mon 20-Jul-26 16:32:49

Loyalty is never a mistake.

Silvershadow Mon 20-Jul-26 16:35:21

On one of the comments it said Emily Thornberry might be replacing Lord Hermer, I d9nt know how true that might be.

JaneJudge Mon 20-Jul-26 16:36:08

As the gaffer you expect your staff to be loyal -respectful staff normally transfer into new managers effectively

Boz Mon 20-Jul-26 16:36:31

Loyalty is a mistake if you are ambitious.
I don't care who does what frankly, as we still have a Socialist Government who will tax to spend.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 20-Jul-26 16:36:50

New appointments will be set this afternoon.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 20-Jul-26 16:38:23

I’m glad Hermer has been sacked.
Another good move imo.

Mr Lammy, who served as Sir Keir’s deputy, said he would not take up a ministerial post under Mr Burnham.

I hope she gets something - I never understood why she didn’t in 2024 but she’s been a good select committee chair

Andy Burnham has invited Donald Trump to visit Manchester.

Steve Reed, the Housing Secretary, has quit ahead of Andy Burnham announcing his Cabinet.

The former housing secretary, who has been in Cabinet since the 2024 general election, said he was proud he “acted with integrity at every step over the turbulent past few months”.

Writing to Andy Burnham, he said: “Keir Starmer showed loyalty to me by appointing me to his Cabinet. I make no apology for returning that loyalty”.

Liz Kendall also returning to the backbenches. I thought she was quite good myself. Shame.
