Dame Jenni Murray died due to dazzling headlights

It has been established that Dame Jenni Murray died in March due to sustaining injuries to her rib cage in a collision caused by dazzling headlights from an oncoming vehicle, which caused broncopneumonia.
Have long argued that dazzling headlights are a danger, and as we move towards darker nights it will cause havoc yet again with motorists. This death we know about but am sure there will be others. And it isn’t just because of a motorists age, both my DDs and SiLs have complained about it, especially one DD who suffers with migraine brought on by bright lights and has on more than one occasion had to pull off the road and take meds for a migraine and waited for the flashing aura to stop before driving again.
Surely headlights can be made safer than this.

Do you mean people leaving their high beam on? That should be illegal.
I used to drive down the A49 to see my sister. First thing I would do when I arrived was to nip to her bathroom to vomit due to a blinding headache, caused by other drivers selfishness of not turning their high beams off.

It's not just high beams, it's badly adjusted lights and the new, brighter LED lights that are a lot brighter. There's supposed to be a study being conducted into the issue but these lights shouldn't have been fitted in the first place. Years ago there was a legal limit on the wattage of bulbs permitted on public roads but I don't know if this still exists.
