Following the abuse of the RNLI volunteers and their families, Portsmouth councillors are backing a call for them to receive the Freedom of the City of Portsmouth as a mark of respect for the life saving work they have done for over 200 years and continue to do.
It appears that not all Portsmouth councillors are supporting this. Reform, what a surprise, feel they cannot fully agree to the proposal, as it has political connotations and if local people feel the RNLI are used as a migrants taxi service, they have the right to express that.
Reform conveniently brushing under the carpet the violence and threats that erupted after such statements. What a shower!
