Just seen a temperamental person described as a "pre-madonna"! Obviously someone who has heard the term "prima donna" but never seen it written down. I can see where they get the idea from, though.

we had a similar thought at the same moment there effblinder.

I think pre-madonna might mean something like "before the days when a female pop megastar took control of her own image" . So its a female star who was exploited by her managers and record label.

Anyone care to define pre-winehouse?
