Somebody can't add up!

There is an advert running for Bupa homes where the old man says he is 83 and got a medal in the war. If he means WW2,he would be 17 when it ended. It irritates me.

Given his age, I would have assumed Korea, but haven't seen the advertisement myself.

Might be Korea,but I think to most people 'the war' is still WW2.

Thank you, nannym.It has snowed steadily for two days and it looks as if there is more to come, so I won't be able to walk up my mountain tracks today. The road to the next village is kept clear as it leads to the ski station, so I will just have to take an hour's walk, if we don't get another blizzard.
