No - that wasn't in Pedants' Corner. I deliberately posted it here so that non-pedants didn't have to read it, though, of course, they probably will.

Ooooh anno ! The times I've had to metaphorically bite my lip over "definately"

My other "itch" as you put it in the opening post is "of" when it should be "have". I have even come across this in novels, makes you wonder who does the proof reading.

I seem to have made at least two of you itchy! BTW - glass, it's the most common mis-spelling I came across when teaching mature students and always told them to think of 'finite'.
