Hi, absent that Tapas bar was excellent, the food was good and kept coming in relays and the staff were friendly. One them kept apologising when he could not reach to get the dirty plates - we should have apologised to them for getting in the way and for making such a racket.

You will all have to continue not ganging up on me behind my back, as I am now off for a long walk in the sunshine.

I don't think I follow your reasoning, Orca. Cathy is a lone voice objecting to the apparent 'ganging up' on me - how do you manage to make that into the opposite? Have I 'misinterpreted' your post? It seems the anti-Greatnan faction has two new recruits - or does it?

You are quite right , Orca, I am more than able to look after myself, but it is nice of Cathy to care about me.
I think she may be seeing a lot of different people disagreeing with me, but I am sure they are not acting in concert.
Nothing wrong in changing your forum name but it can make it difficult to know how to react to somebody who appears to be a new member but seems to come to the forum with ready made grudges.

As well as disliking bestest, especially when it is said in a breathy little girly voice, I find 100+% irritating, as in "I shall give it 150%" or "I agree with you 110%."

It would seem Greatnan is more than able to look after herself Cathy and doesn't need you to fight her battles, but when people start ganging teaming up then that would start to have a flavour of what you suggest. Isn't that what you are doing?

Think nothing of it, Noodles, I always try to be helpful to 'new' members.

Having nothing better to do before going off to bed, I have just tried searching for "noodles" as suggested.

The search brought up a lot of foody references, among them "thin egg noodles", "noodle surprise", "soaked noodles" - which would probably be the surprise - and "not everyone likes spicy noodles".

Just thought I would share that with you.

It just seems a little strange that a new member should plunge so quickly into being unpleasant to me. I don't think I have done anything to upset her personally. Still, if it helps her to make friends................

You could always search for all Noodles' posts, Greatnan - but of course not every new member introduces themselves on Gransnet.

Have you found a new friend, Nonu? That's nice. I see Noodles joined in February of this year - I don't recall her introducing herself as some new members do, but perhaps I missed her post when I was in New Zealand.
