We all have pet hates that make our blood boil when we see them (the misused apostrophe, for example), but what about things that you know are supposedly wrong, but that you are happy to do anyway?

For instance, I just can't get hot under the collar about split infinitives.
And I am quite happy to start a sentence with 'and', or even 'but'.

And I am too Mama grin

I also enjoy ignoring Government Guidelines on alcohol consumption.

I think I'd get mad as a wet hen about them....if I knew what they were. I was 'educated' in the late 60s and English Grammer was not on the curriculum - self expression was. However, I did manage to waffle my way to an O.U. Degree in Humanities/English Literature!

Sometimes sentences are more effective if they don't contain a verb.

Something which annoys me is when I watch a cop reality show and they tell their captive to get on the floor when they are out in the road. That is not the floor it is the ground.
