Thunder and lightning

I'm sorry, I can't help myself - I just have to point out that the word is 'lightning' not 'lightening'!

I've seen it misspelt all over the place, not just on here, but I can't understand how people can get it wrong - it isn't pronounced 'lighten-ing' confused

I'll hold my hand up........yet still prefer lightening for sheet lightning - although for the jagged type, lightning (as in strike), works. grin

We've had lots of thunder and intermittent heavy downpours this afternoon, and each time it's dried up in minutes and stayed very warm. It's like being in Spain!
