I won't even mention the "chest of draws" (oops, just have! grin) but in just the last few minutes I have seen:

2 birth caravan

Stare gates (Well I suppose that might be what the child would do through them)

Oak cabernet

No doubt there are quite a few others out there!

I expect the "oak cabernet" would have delicious overtones of wood. ??

Probably matured in oak casks, MiniMoon !

Yes, I've noticed some strange spelling in local ads.

It's like the old joke: For Sale, grand piano by elderly lady with Queen Anne legs.

Facebook ads ..."please delete if not aloud."

cannot bear (bare) chest of draws

I saw a discussion once on MN where people argued the bare/bear spelling.

their/there is also common

Our Doctors receptionist put a post on F/B explaining that they were installing ( she actually said putting in) a new telephone system and that would help ( her words) the cues

Sorry, not local ads, but while crocheting, I have had the sub-titles on the You Tube videos. They can be hilarious.

Again, not an ad. but a letter from a parent .
"Sorry,Johnny will not be in school today. He has to see the optician with his eyes."

Pittcity It amazes me how many people get that wrong.

I hate it when people use text speak in their ads.
"Eny one got a cooker goin cheap cuz mines busted"

Saw wall nuts for sale last Christmas on a stall in Salisbury.

Amagran Mon 21-Oct-19 08:04:46

I saw a notice outside a rural veterinary practice saying:

"Neutering service offered here - discount for farmers"

Ouch!

I've even seen 'chester draws' on a FB selling page. Also a 'three peace suit'. And no this wasn't a jacket, trousers and waistcoat - it accompanied a pic of a sofa and two armchairs.

Our branch of Lidl sells celery storks !

I use the subtitles on the telly and was surprised to learn from the BBC that the light bulb was developed by Eddy's son.

Chest of draws drive me mad! I always feel like messaging the person to point out their error, but haven't the courage smile
Aloud for allowed also annoys me. I work with some one who always writes excite instead of exit! Changes the whole meaning of what you are reading .
