'The love of money is the root of all evil '.

Another one is "All that glitters is not gold". The word is glisters .

I agree to all. Misquoting “proverbs” is very common and very irritating!

Another reason not to watch anything with Kirstie in, then.
Not that I really needed another.

Witzend she is irritating though. Not so much with the property programmes but the craft ones are annoying.

At least the "all that glitters/glisters" one doesn't actually alter the entire meaning of the proverb, as the pudding and money ones do.

I am reliably told she is a nightmare to work with .

I went right off her during the LLL programmes, @sodapop, I found her so smug and bossy, not to mention so often trying to get young couples to spend more than they’d bargained for.
I’ve never watched any of her craft programmes - there’d be too many foul expletives polluting our sitting room!

I forget the name of the other female property ‘expert’ who was often on TV - memory is terrible but it’ll come to me - she was IMO far more down to earth and realistic.
Sarah Beeny! That’s it.
I think one reason dh also enjoyed watching her was because of her generously sized knockers - not that I begrudged him at all. 🙂

Kevin McCloud is another one who annoys me as well ( you see a pattern here) all his high falutin commentaries so far removed from the average person.

I like Sarah Beeny - and so does DH. I wonder whether she’s out of favour or just moved to pastures new.
