Saw this yesterday - 'ipertriteical', took me a moment or two to work it out.

Charleygirl5 Fri 14-Jul-23 10:28:29

The number of times I read brought instead of bought is irritating.

Where I live there are a lot of people looking for a clinging job. Many apparently leave close by to the job advertised.

Don't think it was a non native speaker - complete sentence shown below.

'Totally agree with you people shouldn't be ipertriteical because they never know when they might be in the same situation'

Floradora9 Thu 13-Jul-23 21:10:10

On my last day on facebook I want to go through the posts and correct all the spelling and grammar mistakes then log out and close my account .

BlueBelle Thu 13-Jul-23 20:33:44

Oh have we got two different ones going on !! First one does seem to be hypocritical but depends what the rest of the sentence said

BlueBelle Thu 13-Jul-23 20:31:39

‘Technical difficulties’ but it could be someone with dyslexia or from another country who wrote it quickly

sodapop Thu 13-Jul-23 19:53:24

I thought that maybe as well MerylStreep

MerylStreep Thu 13-Jul-23 15:51:44

I would suggest it was written by someone whose first language isn’t English.

I could make a fortune selling unnecessary apostrophes smile

Yes - what ever happened to ‘if in doubt, leave it out’?
That was drummed into me in the 80s.
I think that some folk think that it’s akin to some sort of fancy sentence-garnish

Locally we have many “gardners” looking for work

Katek Thu 13-Jul-23 12:34:23

FarNorth - I think it may be 'hypocritical' but won't swear to it!!

It's the amount of chester draws for sale on FB Marketplace which always gets me!

They are certainly popular Blondie.

FarNorth Thu 13-Jul-23 12:06:43

Katek can you enlighten me? I still have no idea what the OP word is.

Tbf, I sometimes get my fingers in a fankle typing on the phone and something weird results.

The handwritten sign is either a joke or written by someone who has genuine difficulty, I'd say.

Katek Thu 13-Jul-23 12:04:30

Yes, the tables seem to be very popular! Why am I thinking about turkeys when I read 'neckless'? grin

Witzend Thu 13-Jul-23 12:01:49

My ‘for sale’ favourite is ‘chez lounge’.

I’ve seen lots of ‘dinning’ tables too.

Katek Thu 13-Jul-23 11:57:22

Today's offering........T bar chain neckless

FannyCornforth Wed 12-Jul-23 12:54:54

FannyCornforth Wed 12-Jul-23 12:53:59

Grantanow Wed 12-Jul-23 12:05:10

Well spotted!

MiniMoon Wed 12-Jul-23 10:42:14

It's not making any sense to me.

Hypocritical?
