Wordle/quordle US spellings 🤔

Not sure if this has been covered before but it drives me nuts. Every morning I do wordle and quordle before I start the day. I suppose is a vain attempt to stave off senility. Anyway, as anyone who does the word puzzles will tell you sometimes American spellings are used due to the fact the puzzles are free from the US. Fair enough. But why can’t we have an English version of the puzzles to prevent people like me using four letter words to describe my annoyance at having to ‘labor’ away at a puzzle that does not ‘favor’ the English player.

Correction - ….due to the fact the puzzles are from the US….not sure how the rogue ‘free’ crept in.

I heard that labor, color etc were the original English spellings and we added the u.
I can't get too worried about it.

Another is the z in realize, etc. Nowadays we use s but the correct spelling is z.

I thought that when New York Times bought Wordle from its British inventor they gave an assurance that it would avoid words that had different spellings in the two countries.
