The eighth day in a row of unbroken, dull, dreary grey cloud. Give me strength!

According to my weather forecast, it will be sunny on Friday of this week.

I am happy just as long as it does not rain. I don't intend to go out, as I am redecorating the kitchen and for many good reasons the work has dragged on FAR TOO LONG.

Hope to finish painting the ceiling tomorrow and then AT LAST I can start papering the walls.

I suggest you find some indoor job that you have been putting off for a while and get it done in the dull weather. The glow of self-satisfaction will warm you just as well as the sunshine.

Cold and damp and grey here - good job I love the north west 🌞🙏🏽😵‍💫

It’s the same in the South West. It was so grey and damp this morning it looked as if we’d had some rain. I love the South West most of the time just not on days like this. I couldn’t even bring myself to go for a walk with DH. Please can we have some sun.☀️ I think I’m going to escape to Padstow.

I'm grateful that it's dry. We've had so much rain here over this year. At least I can go out without getting drenched.

Bridie22 Wed 06-Nov-24 15:10:50

It's just popped out here after 5 grey murky cold days. 🌞🌞🌞

MissAdventure Wed 06-Nov-24 15:07:01

I'm not worried about seeing the sun, as long as its not raining relentlessly.

Spencer2009 Wed 06-Nov-24 14:57:43

I like to see the sun even for a short period each day. I would just like to say don’t forget to take your vitamin D

It’s November after all.

If we didn’t have winter, we wouldn’t appreciate summer, would we?

You need a balance, sunshine and showers, light and dark, warm and cool, hot and cold….

There’s a lot to be said for drawing the curtains, putting on your dressing gown and watching tv or reading a good book.

In the summer months, you always feel you should be out there, doing something.

Not so much when it’s cold and dark.

What is 'the sun'?

I don’t care what Thomas Hood says, I’d like a little bit of sun.

I'm with you! Who is Thomas Hood anyway? Fed up with needing the lights on pretty much all day.

Yes would love some sun. We got back from holiday on Saturday so still trying to catch up on laundry. Not cold here (Norths Notts) but overcast and damp. I've hung things out on the line but have to finish them off in the dryer.

Second day of thick fog here in my part of Wales - can hardly see a hand in front of your hand!!

leeds22 Wed 06-Nov-24 12:33:35

North Yorkshire here - the sun is just peeping through the clouds outside my window and it's about 14 C. Must get out to do some gardening.

Mojack26 Wed 06-Nov-24 12:22:26

Depressing isn't it! Watery sun in Edinburgh today, but cloudy and grey

We have had beautiful sunny days here in Conwy, yesterday morning it was quite warm with blue sky. It was Guy Fawkes day, when I was a child we were wrapped up for the bonfire and fireworks, climate change.

Today was the first day I felt like Autumn had arrived. It's actually slightly warmer than some days were during the so-called-Summer but there was no sun. I do like to see the sun but this weather has it's compensations.

I've just got some of our battery operated candles out for the sitting room.

The perfect weather for working in the garden, not too hot or too cold.

Don't need big coats yet but can get my lovely scarves and gloves out.

Oh how i agree Casdon I hate it too I need sun even if it’s not hot We have had some reasonable days for November but the thought of the dreary dank days for months and months pulls me down and no I haven’t got SAD I just need some good summers to get me through the long dark never ending winters not these odd days here and there
Today it’s dry dull and 12 *

No complaints from me,I love this sort of weather and the winter that’s to come.
Summer I could do without.. 🤷‍♀️

Me too, I love its cosiness in the house. I burn candles and love all glow and colours it gives.
I love my Autumn winter wardrobe. The leaves changing colour, even the rain when I am indoors.
I took my Grandson to a coffee shop after school and they had their Autumn menu, he really enjoyed it.
I like all the seasons but Autumn and Winter are my favourites.

Casdon Tue 05-Nov-24 17:11:23

I hate it. I’ve been out in my garden all day tidying up for the winter. I might as well have been inside for all the benefit from the light I felt, it left me feeling desperate for some sun. I’d rather a sunny day whatever time of year it is.

karmalady Tue 05-Nov-24 16:50:02

I am loving this weather, perfect for me to be out all day, clearing my new allotment. Not too hot, no uv rays to think about and no rain

Fleurpepper Tue 05-Nov-24 16:47:58

In the valley below, by the lakes, they have been in thick fog then under the fog, for days on end, and much colder than up here in t'mountains.

Fleurpepper Tue 05-Nov-24 16:45:50

Not gloating, honest- but we are having the most amazing Indian Summer- sun, bleu skies and very decent temps- 18-20 during the afternoons, although 3 or 4 during the night. All the cows are out, and farmers were even cutting grass last few days.

merlotgran Tue 05-Nov-24 16:28:52

Had a lovely morning on my allotment. It was a bit grey but not a breath of wind and warm enough not to need a jacket. The cheeky little robin who followed me about cheered me up no end.

November’s not all bad.
