Living an hour ahead of British Standard Time, I pick up this News channel before the big names come on. There are two presenters on early who don't seem to have learned the art of reading the auto cue without undue hesitation or stuttering. Either that or the auto cue is faulty and difficult to follow seamlessly. Consequently, the piece they are reading often makes little sense.
And one presenter, whose intonation is decidedly school girlish, doesn't seem to realise that 'Ireland' is pronounced with a clear 'r' and not as in 'island'.
Perhaps they are in training on the early shift but if so, shouldn't someone be monitoring their work?
Sometimes it’s just the small things that press the bruise isn’t it? 😢
