that than grammar

Prince William is not a robot. He makes human errors, just like all of us. The overall message is the important thing.
I fail to understand why some people like to nitpick.

I'm not a grammar nerd, I'm more confused by grammar than most. The Nuns would be disappointed I didn't take on my lessons well.

Despite what you may think from my posts, I do think grammar is important and one of my DC is an English teacher.

However, in this instance I think the message was far more important and criticising the grammar detracts from that.

Content of the speech aside, the grammar was incorrect. I, like many others here, believe it does matter. My argument is always that a teacher teaching English to, for example, a German or French person, would try very hard to provide accurate information. I’ve done it and would never have said ‘it doesn’t matter, say what you like’!
The other reason I believe this stuff matters is that both my fairly successful careers have been based on being able to read, write and communicate clearly in the English language.
If none of it matters, what on earth was the point? Depressing to put it mildly!

No. Allira. Just the posters telling the others that they should have only been thinking about the Holocaust or the message in William's speech.

Well, if you think a tiny grammatical error is more important than the message perhaps have missed the message or think it is of no consequence.

Sometimes I wonder why posters can't accept other mortals tiny failures. I didn't read any post saying the message was of no consequence.
