Canarians would say Choreesso, Catalans something else , maybe Choreetso.

It should be choreetho - that's the closest I can get in the written word - but you really need to hear a Spanish speaker saying it to get it absolutely correct.

We're pretty useless with Spanish - Mallorca, paella e.g.

But understandable if you're not familiar with Spanish.

You have all made my day !! I thought I was alone. “The proof is in the pudding” doesn’t make any sense at all because it’s a truncated (lazy) version of the correct sentence which does make sense. All of the above comments too… “for free” “can I get” “nucular” “pacific” “very unique” etc etc….🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I am not alone after all, I can now justify my inner rage. 😁 Thank you

Yes, "nuclular" is just so irritating and sometimes seems to be used by people who really should know the right way to say it. I'm sure that there are words that I say wrong too!

And "pacific" being used instead of "specific" makes me cringe

A food related irritation of mine is TV chefs not knowing the difference between ‘marinade’ and ‘marinate.’

You make a marinade (noun) in order to marinate (verb) an ingredient.

I yell at the telly every time they announce, ‘The meat has finished marinading.’ 😡

Same here also people who say different "to" when it is correct to say different "from"again "effect" instead of "affect". I hear these on Radio 4 frequently, never mind the general public. I do not have a degree in English.

In your example above - is 'meat pudding' a thing? Steak and kidney pudding maybe. And the 'Proof' of salmonella as cause of death was surely in the meat not the pie/pudding.

Not food related but 'very unique' or 'extremely unique' gets me arguing with the tv. Something is either unique or it's not, it can't be very or extremely unique.

I hate when people say it's like Groundhog day to mean they are getting nowhere... No if it's a day which seems like a repeat of others then it's like Groundhog Day THE MOVIE!!! It bears no resemblance to seeing if a North American animal can predict spring.
