Three weeks ago I said a very sad "goodbye" to my much loved border collie. She was my retired working dog from when we had a flock of sheep and retired when we sold the flock several years ago. She was sixteen and a half years old and for the last few years was almost totally deaf. Up to the last day of her life she was enjoying her walks, although not too good on her legs sometimes, eating well and still seeking our company. Then one day she just decided that she had had enough, refused her walk, breakfast and took herself off to bed. You know your own dog so well that you know when the time has come and it was with very heavy hearts we decided the next day to call the vet to have her put to sleep at home.
Such an empty, quiet house now but so many happy memories and I would like to create a Gransnet virtual remembrance garden for pets so that we can all remember our pets and say a special thank you to them for all they have done for us
