I received a phone call a while ago telling me that my little girl cat was dead beside a main road 1/4 mile away. I have fields to the rear which she enjoyed, so I can only think she was chased by another cat ( she was very skittish). There is not a mark on her so hope it was instant.
I am feeling so guilty! I gave a home to 'Lulu' and her brother Bugsie from Cats Protection last July - named with the help of GNetters - and have not kept her safe!sad

So sorry to hear this, shysal. It happened to one of my cats. Again, not a mark on him. His twin, who had 99 lives, survived to be quite elderly at 17. flowers

ohh shysal how very upsetting for you, and yes sounds like she may have been chased if she normaly plays in the fileds... I would think that it "was" instant with no marks on her which doesn't make you feel any better I know...take care. flowers

That's very sad shysalI am sure you did keep her safe, but cats are independent and she had a happy time playing in the fields,I am sure it was quick probably shock...big hugs for you and Bugsie...RIP Tallulah flowers

shysal, try not to feel guilty, because that wee cat enjoyed a lovely life with you, bless her. She was just living her life the way she wanted to and knew that she was loved and cared for. There was nothing you could have done to stop this happening, and it's how it is with cats. She would have known nothing about it at all. flowers xx

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. It felt strange to sleep without her on my bed, but I have to say it was more comfortable. My Bengals are enjoying the good weather out in the fields, so I am left with my lovely laid-back Bugsie for company this morning. Going to keep busy today cutting back next-door's Leylandii hedge before the rain comes in again.

shysal Cats will be cats and they will go where they want to go. It's sad but not your fault. It's good that you have Bugsie for company and comfort.
