We do however expect them to guard the houses and expect a lot of love off them for being kept well.
They are fed every day.
We also expect at least 2 walks a day in normal conditions but we do compromise in this heat.

Are they seriously admitting that they only feed the dogs EVERY 4 DAYS?

That is a disgrace.

I know wild dogs may not eat every day, and a friend used to fast her dogs 1 day in 7, but this is surely OTT?

Grace thinks she is fasting if she goes 4 hours between food intake. The eyes tell me that greyhounds can starve to death if not given titbits/biscuits/treats immediately grin

If she is not fed at (her idea of) regular intervals she has been known to take drastic action such as the haunch of venison.............

I've got one who thinks she's in imminent danger of fainting from lack of food, too! Funny that what's in her bowl won't revive her - only what's being prepared on the worktop! grin

If you follow the link within the link it takes you to the Mamchester Dogs' Home site. There it explains that four days is the average length of time it takes these dogs to start eating again after the trauma of being abandoned or lost.
It does not mean they are only fed every four days.

Here's an article that explains it more clearly. I support Manchester Dogs Home and have visited often. There is regular feeding every day and I have watched staff and volunteers sitting with dogs, tempting them to eat when they are not woofing it down like the others. It's very like Battersea, on a smaller scale, which was shown in Paul O'Grady's programme.

whenim64 it just goes to show how things get distorted when the article is not read correctly,I am just reading this morning the astonishing salaries that are paid to the "top dogs" (no pun intended) at the RSPCA.

I don't think Andie wants to go to a kennel even though we expect a lot from him.
