The Tail (sic) of Sprout

This cat should come with a health warning! He's very well behaved in most ways, except one. Well, possibly 2 but we'll leave that for now.

In addition to being very handsome, he has an extraordinarily long tail. For his first day here it was as if the had come with his own built-in toy, but the provision of a squeaky catnip mouse, and a nice rattly ball made him realise that chasing one's own tail was perhaps a little over-rated, as well as looking rather silly.

Digby is somewhat lacking in the tail department, I mean he has one of course, but let's just say that it is of modest proportions. (I was worried about possible "tail envy" but I don't think they've got round to comparing)

Now Sprout has a rather odd habit, when he is happy he he is given to very extravagant swishing of his tail. (I'm surprised that he doesn't swish his whole self over sometimes confused He is a very happy cat, therefore he swishes a lot grin

Apart from nearly having my eye out during a fit of ecstasy brought on by having his neck scratched while sitting on the desk "helping" me with my emails, he has managed to send the skype microphone down into the murky depths behind the desk (it sort of goes across the corner, leaving a bit of floor that it is impossible to access with the hoover blush ) knocked the cordless phone off it's stand 3 times remove nearly every pen and pencil from the desk top, and render a piece of toast and marmalade inedible. Tip: A damp flannel is the best way to remove marmalade from a cat's tail, but it has to be done surreptitiously and at speed.

I think I'll ban him from here once it's glass of wine o'clock!

Wait until he is allowed out, you may be overwhelmed with takeaways. He sounds delightful.

He sounds delightful Phoenix...my DD's cat, Sprout, has a very long tail which he delights in swishing about. He has calmed down now that he is older and loves to curl up with his tail wrapped around him. Although he does love to plonk himself down on any visitor with a look that says: 'just try and move me!'

glamma he is 15 months!

I must admit, although I very nearly got sidetracked by all the lovely cats and kittens that I saw at the Launceston branch of CPL, I went with my first instinct and chose Sprout ( I still feel that Oliver would suit him very nicely as a name!) and I'm convinced that I made the right choice!

He is a lovely, affectionate, friendly chap and hasn't pushed his luck with Digby, even though I can tell that Sprout would very much like to be really good friends.

Mr P fell for him very quickly, even though I hadn't exactly told him that we had a new furry occupant.blush How do I know? When Mr P came upstairs on Saturday morning with a cup of tea for me, and he had Sprout under one arm, plonking him on the bed saying "now, you just sit there while I have a shave, and then we can play ball again" grin

Charleygirl I think you may be only too right about the "takeaways", unfortunately sad I know it's in their nature, but i still wish they wouldn't, especially the birds.

My friend's husband was very anti cat so she went out and bought a pair of siamese kittens. Within 2 days he was unable to leave his chair "In case he woke the little babies" who were all over his lap grin His life is still ruled by cats, although they must be on to the fourth generation by now!
