Covid and cleaning my dogs paws

What do other people do... How do you clean your dog after a walk?

We live in a flat and I carry her through communal areas (others in the building have tested positive). If we go to the park I carry her all the way to the car and drive there, it's still fairly quiet and I dont think the risk is too high. (I would normally walk to the park but to get there is always very busy.)

However, we can't drive four times a day so late evening and very early mornings we walk on the roads. The area we live in is on the edge of a large uni campus and we can avoid other people as the roads are wide and not much traffic at the times we go out, however, who knows what's on the pavements?

To reduce the risk I wash her feet with proper hypo-allergenic dog shampoo and rinse them well.

Do any Gransnetters have better ideas? Am I over-cautious?

I don't think you are being over cautious at all,I always washed Poppys paws after going out even before the virus.
My DD bought her dog some doggy boots from ebay and she uses them during wet weather usually but at the moment she puts them on her dog every time she goes outside.
