I'm not a believer in heaven or afterlife or any of that. So can someone tell me why this makes me cry please? I've got three kitties waiting for me...

I don’t believe in the Pearly Gates or a Rainbow Bridge but I understand how loved some pets are and what a huge loss they are when they die.

They do. I hope to be able to give a home to another rescue dog in time but none of them is ever replaced.

So sorry GSM they leave a big gap in our lives and hearts. Eighteen months since our two boys died and I think of them every day. My daughter bought us some memorial wind chimes and its lovely to hear them and think of the boys.?

There is no friend like a dog - they weave themselves into our lives, and when they are gone there is a panful gaping wound. Anyone who has ever had the love of a dog will know this.

I didn`t think for one minute you meant to upset anyone,but that`s how much we love and miss our pets and feel for those in the same situation.

Yes it is. Lost my dear girl five weeks ago today.

So many pets who made such a difference to our lives, it is comforting to think of them happily waiting for us.

There will be a menagerie waiting for me I hope, I hope the dogs and cats get on together though, I don’t want my current wild boy cocker spaniel chasing my childhood lovely boy cat.

I have a wonderful little meme that I bring out to comfort people whose dogs have just left for Heaven (where I hope I'll be allowed in and reunited for ever with all my myriad animals!).

It seems to be really comforting to other people as well as me.
