This is so sad because the people who need company and are good owners are often older or unemployed. I got caught in the same racket , my cat was very I’ll and quoted 1600 bill for him for a stomach op. I contacted the Pdsa and because I was on tax credits at the time they said they would do it for 906.00. If I hadn’t been working I would have got it free. He is fine now but I took out insurance however they will not cover any digestive related problems. My two other cats have no insurance , I just have to hope for the best. My sympathy to anyone who is poor and has a pet
