This has gruly upset me too.
And who and how, does anyone end up with 28 kittens?
Bred commercially for what purpose? Just sickening.
The average fertile house cat has six kittens in a litter and comes into heat again seven weeks after giving birth during the summer months. So a household or farm with four or five queenie cats can mangage 28 kittens relatively fast.
Some of the breeds sold as pedigree cats have or can have up to eleven kittens at a time.
I totally agree that allowing fertile cats to breed like this is irresponsible, but is mathematically and zoologically possible.
