I had to put my dog to sleep 3 weeks ago and I am completely lost without him. I don't want to be at home anymore because the house is so empty without him. My friends do not seem to care. One of them told me to get busy with my work or to join a gym! I don't know how to move forward. Any thoughts anyone?

One of the hardest things I think. I lost my dearest terrier 2 years ago almost to the day, and there is rarely a day goes past when I do not think about him.

Oh I'm so sorry Hopes. You haven't just lost a dog, you've lost a much loved member if your family.

You need to give yourself time to grieve so you'll reach a place where you can look back at all of those wonderful memories and when you do, that will help you to move forward flowers.

I gave this some thought and - Personally although I love my dog more than life itself..I do think when the day comes that all pet owners dread, I will seriously think about getting another one..as I think it will help in the long run, we’re so used to doing stuff with our dogs from the minute we get up in the morning..I do think it will help in someway to cope with the loss of my beloved Bean…who will be with me hopefully for some time to come.,

Hopes, losing your much loved companion is a huge bereavement. I’m certain it’s even greater loss when we are older. No dog ever replaces another but as younger women it’s easier to bring another, different dog into our lives than it is now.
Look after yourself, give yourself time to grieve

So sorry, this is such a difficult time. Lost my dog last year I miss her very much. I do have another dog now, it does help but don't rush into anything. I planted a garden in her memory and have a ring engraved. This is not my normal, but I felt compelled to do something. Time does heal, but, every now then.......
