Ooooh thank you Yogagirl and Celebgran for my birthday wishes. It's been a lovely day. Had lunch at one of our favourite restaurants at Down Town Disney; an Italiansmile. Had a lovely meal and bottle of Proseccosmile and as we've decided to stay in tonight and have another BBQ, we bought another bottle of Prosecco for latergrin.

Just enjoying a glass of chilled rosegringrinas I type and am thinking pf a quick dip in the pool. Sorry ladies I know the weather in the UK is pretty grim; just couldn't resistblush.

DH is snoring beside me bless him, the words in the card he got me are so lovely they made me cry. Q. What does a 54 year old, only a grandmother for 8 months get for her birthday? A. A beautiful 'Tinkerbell' ornament. I'm just a big kid at heart.

Sadly my brother the Grandad did t come expect to do I both carol if felt for My nephew him and Danika's mum weren't very pleased.

Yogagirl Mon 04-May-15 19:47:03

I put the photo of Laila & Jack, that my neighbour downloaded and printed for me, in the newspaper advert, the resent one that I couldn't bare to look at as it made me so sad to see them grown! But they will wonder how I got it. Little pleasures grin
Yes Celebgran it does make you feel good when someone helps you. Unfortunately I have no one to help, as the only one now is my ND fiancée, but I wouldn't ask him as he has his own mother to help since he's dad died last year and of course he has his own little growing family to look after. I do miss having someone sad

Yogagirl Mon 04-May-15 19:32:39

Dinner in tum, washing in drum & I'm back!
Celebgran it is certainly not funny to have the police called on you by your D flowers It happened to me too! I was accused of trying to kidnap my Laila, yet I was nowhere near and would never do that to her I love her so! I find I can't take too much of the FB estrangement page, it's very heavy & full on, unlike on here where we do 'talk' about other things and what we are up to, nice & pleasant stuff, so it makes it more light hearted & less troubling, not so hard on the heart!
Hope Tor's Godmother is OK with her eye and hope you had a good time at Danika's party. I often think ' how can jenni-ann (my EstD) be happy with cutting herself off from everyone that loved & adored her & her babies, it just doesn't make any sense to me.
It's my Laila's 5th birthday on the 8th too, but this month, this Friday :'( I have put an advert in the paper again this year, for Jack too, as he's is just the next week. It says 'Happy birthday to my precious Grandchildren Laila & Jack. Love & miss you with all of my heart & soul. Your stepfamily cannot part us forever!' I'm waiting for the phone call from the paper on Monday, saying they can't put that last line in, but I'm hoping they'll miss it & it goes in as is grin
[Wine] to cheer you up Celebgran after that thoughtless joke! I'm posting before I loose the post again...

Yogagirl Mon 04-May-15 18:25:57

No good! Wrote a big long post & lost it! [Angry] back a bit later blush

celebgran Mon 04-May-15 09:04:28

Wow yogagirl another night out ! You doing more than us at moment!

No we Will always be bit sad about our daughters /son only natural.

I and step back bit from support group on Facebook as it is in your face all time and someone made joke about police arresting me is 5 years ago nearly when we delivered present to our Grandaughter I will never find it funny.

We enjoyed yesterday our friend son was helping or rather doing it really put.new fences In. We never had that sort help from our kidsgrin

Yogagirl Sun 03-May-15 16:49:56

Hello girls
Thanks for the treats &sunshine smileless the sun has actually just come out, how do you do that! grin That little saying was sooo funny! I was actually at the birth of my second GC & allowed in his life for 18months before getting the boot.

Think you need some wine Celebgran first your foot & now your knee sad I'm upset everyday about the estrangement, don't think I'll ever get over it!

My ND is coming round for a cuppa in a mo, we would have gone out for lunch, but I'm going out with 'the girls' to The Boatyard tonight, it's a Jazz/Cuban fusion band and dinner, so should be a really good night grin
wine flowers

Smileless2012 Sun 03-May-15 13:47:23

Yes I did didn't I, they really were lovelysmile. Weather sounds awful back in the UK; typical spring bank holiday.

I'm glad you had such a lovely day yesterday Celebgran, isn't Gra a sweet heart. It's my birthday on Tuesday and DH keeps saying he has to get me a cardhmmbut will he get around to it!!

No worries, I'll be able to choose a pressie and being here for a month is as good a pressie as any way. Wont tell him that though, in case he thinks that's enough.

He's my hero as since he did whatever he did yesterday, the ads have gonegrin. I couldn't face moving to somewhere that needed work doing. A bit of painting and decorating isn't too bad but I couldn't be bothered to do anything else.

It's 8.45am and already warming up with a beautiful blue sky. We got up early to skype DS in Aus. and then got a message to say he couldn't do it todaysadstill there's always next week.

Try and enjoy your bank holiday ladies, despite the weather here's somesunshineand a few treats for you allwineflowerscupcake.

celebgran Sun 03-May-15 09:56:56

Just to remind you smileless you had lovely flowers on Mother's Day for. Ns,

celebgran Sun 03-May-15 09:55:05

How lovely hear from you smileless jealous as hell is cold and wet here on bank hol Sunday! You just enjoy the sunshine. Wow another 3 weeks you totally deserve it.

I remember the sylvester story now! Will have google him remind myself what he looks like.

Smileless I can still remember how low and totally bereft I was when found out Tor was pregnant with Daisy 2nd one, in some ways is worse for you being nearer I all. Never likely run I to Tor or family wish I was but we always want something different!

Feeling brighter as dear husband took me out yesterday despite his back and we went on free park ride is new and trialling if that's a word grin
I was spoilt and pampered. Bless him tried some perfume and while I sat and had drink he beetles back and got it for me! Also some v pretty new undies from marks and a new tankini (hate the word] from bhs and nighty so it was My day grin

I felt v tired thurs after treatment on foot and late. Isn't round Tor godmother wed (always bit of strain) so guess just all too much.

Did write Tor again as wanted to tell her few things hope she takes them on board, and sent recorded like one to the inlaws we were anxious would be returned but was signed for. Why do I put myself through it ? Let's hope will be last time.

Smileless just enjoy and recharge your batteries!
We going out for lunch and seeing friends for quick visit after.
They moved into. New bungalow that needs lot work done wink glad not us! kitchen paint has had be postponed ref Gra back.

Smileless2012 Sun 03-May-15 00:14:46

Hello ladies fromsunshineFlorida. I was going to post earlier but every time I come on to GN I'm plagued, quite literally plagued with adverts. I got so frustrated that I nearly threw the laptop in to the poolangry. Thanks to DH whose done something or other I now seem to be advert freesmile. Long may it continue.

Here's somewinefrom me too Celebgran for you and Gra to share. Sorry that his back's no better and that you had a very sad night last nightsad. It happens from time to time doesn't it and I guess it's always going be that way.

Well, our first week is at an end and we have 3 more to enjoy. It's so lovely here. It's the only place I feel totally relaxed as I know there's not a chance of seeing them. I must admit that the news of the pregnancy has hit me a lot harder than I thought and I think it's going to be more difficult to deal with than I realised. Of course Celebgran and Yogagirl you both know what it's like, it's just the thought of seeing her pregnant and then seeing them with a pram when the baby's born.

We had an unexpected Skype with our DS last Sunday and will be skyping him tomorrow. The weather so far has been hot and sunny and looks to continue that way toogrin.

Hope your trip to the hygienist went OK Yogagirl, I hate having my teeth cleaned too, it's always so uncomfortable isn't it. Well unfortunately it's Mother's Day here on May 10th so there's ads all over the place (grrrrrr) and let's face it, nothing makes us feel quite as crap as Mother's Day.

Saw a brilliant car sticker which we've bought for our ES for the next time he does or say something nasty: 'My parents always told me I could be anything I wanted to be, so I became an arse hole'gringrin.

To refresh your memory Celebgran, when we were here a couple of years ago, DH came back from the super market all pleased with himself as he'd been wearing a sporty cap and shades and the check out lady said he looked like Sylvester Stallone; so for the rest of the day he called me ADRIANEhmm. A few days later, we went out for an evening meal and the waiter asked him if anyone had ever told him he looked like Sylvester Stalloneconfused; there was simply no living with him, his enlarged head and ego. I like Sly, always have done but wouldn't part with DH.

Welcome to this thread chrcol. I saw your sad story on another thread and replied to your post. I hope you'll keep sharing with us all on here. We're a little whacky at times but have lots of love and support for anyone who needs it.

Take care everyone.

celebgran Fri 01-May-15 11:05:05

Hello chrcol welcome

My EstD's m.I.l is a huge part of the problem with my situation too. It's jealousy for sure! I can't believe my ED either, cutting me, her sister & everyone else in her family out, who really love her, on their say so, but she has! 2.5yrs now :'(
flowers to cheer you up a little bit.
Went to that lovely Turkish restaurant in London last night, it was such a good night, with talented belly dancers, the restaurant was really exotic & luxurious :-)

celebgran Wed 29-Apr-15 19:07:01

2 more born since. NEver told about or seen.

We have tried hard rebuild our lives, I hope your situation can improve.

We feel blessed still have lovely son and other family and friends so life is still good.

chrcol Wed 29-Apr-15 18:04:32

Hi all. I have just joined the site and am surprised at the amount of hurt our offspring can cause.

I feel I have been betrayed by my son because his mil told outrageous lies about me and he believed her and has never given me a chance to speak. I am so shocked he believes her over me and doubly hurt as I am forbidden contact with my beloved granddaughter who I have looked after since she was 9 months old, she is 8 now.

I can only imagine his mil has some kind of hold over him or he is extremely stressed.

So humiliating when the whole family get together and don't include me.(sad)

celebgran Tue 28-Apr-15 09:34:53

Wow yogagirl enjoy the night in London sounds find grin

Oh well tummy not good was strange diet over weekend must go to acquacise though got poor husband off to work no he won't see doctor, hmm just want him have xray.

Better run Rosie round block well walkgrin before quick breakfast and go.

Happy tuesday all don't work too hard yogagirl with all that preparing.

Yogagirl Tue 28-Apr-15 08:57:52

Hello smileless sounds lovely, sun, wine,BBQ & pool! Yes I do remember the Stallon story, very funny, your hubby obviously needs a top up grin with the admiring girls!
Just preparing for yoga retreat, two weeks till I go, lots of work putting it all together, don't think anyone that goes to a retreat realises how much prep work the teacher has to do and the last thing is to physically go through it to make sure it all flows properly. I do flowing sequences that get harder as the week progresses.
I have actually booked a night off from teaching yoga tomorrow, meeting up with friends at a lovely restaurant in London, with belly dancers, to celebrate friend's birthday, really looking forward to it smile
