You could also talk to Age UK. Their local Information and Advice Service should be able to help you - especially over problems of housing and entitlement to benefits.

I do have children two daughters and a son. They are in full support for me and our my best friends.

CAB will guide you and each step will lead to the next. Making the decision is the hardest bit.
Be sure to get the CAB advice so you get everything you are entitled to. Also, with regard to dividing assets you should perhaps see a solicitor. Again, CAB will guide you.

That must have been a very hard decision, Tarnibel. You should visit your nearest Citizens' Advice Bureau where you will receive advice on your rights, on pensions, on benefits and on housing - whatever you need. Is this a mutual decision? And do you have children and any other living relatives who will give you moral support?

Sounds to me as if you were not over the death of your DH when you started a new relationship. Take advice on your financial situation because without a partner's input you will have to manage on your own.
