I too am quite tactile as was my daughter only more so, yes we are the same how can you not love your mum? My nephews are in bits losing theirs, but it seems we are very unusual and unlucky in regard to our daughters lucklegs x

Poignant words. I am a very tactile person and my parents and children, friends etc have always knows how I love them. That's the trouble, I just assumed my d loved me in return, never questioned it, that's why I took such a lot, how can you not love your mom?
Meeting my sister today for a catch up, hope the rain keeps off, I was like a drowned rat yesterday, met friends for coffee nearly got thrown out after three hours, but we did have bacon sandwiches too, can't understand why this extra weight doesn't go.

I too saw Lady Lucan, couldn't make out how I felt though. What a strange world she inhabited, the matter of fact way in which she said when at the wedding there were not many guests, but of course there wouldn't be as we were not popular, How she didn't see her children all summer, but it was ok they were looked after, the fact that she only gave them five minutes of her time a day, to teach them reading?in five minutes! It was all very detached, the way she fell in from day one of the the marriage with her husband's gambling, the spankings she just bore. No connection, between husband, children, my heart went out to the Nanny and those children, where were the chats in bed with the children, , the fun the hugs and loads of kisses, the rasberrpries on fat little tummies, splashing in the puddles on wet days, the tough and tumble, they missed out so much. I loved being with mine, always on my mind, could never have left them with a nanny to have all the fun. However, I must say it doesn't seem to resonate with d.

I`m afraid I`ve stopped watching the news too - is that cowardly? Of course I have the greatest sympathy for everyone caught up in the terror attacks but I`m not sure it does anyone any good to hear every last detail of them.

Hi everyone. Did anyone see the interview last night with Lady Lucan? It was very sad.

She lost everything and hasn't had contact with her children for 35 years. It beggars belief doesn't it. She sustained serious head injuries, the nanny was murdered and the police never looked at anyone other than Lord Lucan. At the end of the interview she said all she'd ever wanted was a family and would never understand why it all went so terribly wrong; it made me cry.

Horrible weather here today, and every where going by the forecast. I'll be glad when it's Friday morning and the election is over. I've stopped watching news items etc. because I end up with a head ache and am finding it all rather depressing.

I agree, no most of us dont want to walk on eggshells forever. Without safety, feeling safe, loved and respected, we are still (or would be) putting ourselves in harms way.
