I don’t want to offend anyone but I’ve just discovered that my dh wees in the shower! It was mentioned on a tv programme and I asked dh if he ever did that and he admitted that he does when he’s caught short! I was shocked and I am no way a prude. What do others think of this?

MissAdventure Sun 18-Nov-18 12:47:12

What? Think about you weeing in the shower?! grin

Jalima1108 Sun 18-Nov-18 12:44:13

I am still surprised that people are shocked about urine going down the drain but are happy to pour all kinds of chemicals down their drains.
confused

not that I pee in the shower, but please think about it!

I can't believe this has reached 9 pages grin
ninathenana; 'Fraid so! Possibly more to come, but at least it encapsulates the noble aim of "educating, informing, entertaining"! As Frankie would have said "I find it all so amusing" grin

I do it in bath but not the shower.

Fenton95 Sun 18-Nov-18 08:22:59

Think it highly unlikely it is pee not chlorine causing stinging eyes in the pool! It is when the smell of chlorine is strong that people have a problem with sore eyes.

Fenton95 Sun 18-Nov-18 08:19:57

Blimey, how on earth is this "disgusting"?

Well, might as well accept the majority of us do it and still leave the shower pristine. The shower tray is not fundamentally a different thing to the loo is it?

By the way, you know that heel balm you buy for dry, cracked skin on your feet? Yup, contains urine!

Gonegirl Sat 17-Nov-18 22:06:16

To be honest, I think it's standards! ?

poshpaws Sat 17-Nov-18 21:09:09

I don't understand the problem but I still feel it's gross even so! Irrational I know, but there ya go.

BlueBelle Sat 17-Nov-18 20:20:31

This has given me a chuckle, I wonder where the word wee or pee originated from

MissAdventure Sat 17-Nov-18 20:05:54

Unless you could 'go' like a water cannon.

Desdemona Sat 17-Nov-18 17:42:30

Just as an aside, pee (male or female) doesn't seem to work if you get an invasion of badgers in your back garden.

M0nica Sat 17-Nov-18 15:21:54

I am told that female wee is not as good for plants as male. No idea why.

Jalima1108 Sat 17-Nov-18 15:17:46

Thanks wellwalked
we do have a chamber pot somewhere, I think I have a plant in it.

wellwalked Sat 17-Nov-18 10:42:52

Merlotgran - have to agree with you 100%!
Jalima1108 - ladies can pee in a potty and throw it on (no need for all that clambering!!)

Rufus2 Sat 17-Nov-18 10:07:55

I am no way a prude
Nor me (fortunately), because as I've aged, my accuracy has diminished, but the shower has proved to be a more acceptable target. sad

Pat1949 Sat 17-Nov-18 08:40:24

If you don't want to know the truth, which clearly you didn't, don't ask. There is no way I would dream of asking my husband such a personal question.

Bighorse Sat 17-Nov-18 08:23:40

It saves water. We should all do it.

My husband is a plumber , he actively encourages it !

Luckylegs9 Sat 17-Nov-18 07:47:50

It seems it's one of those questions it's best not knowing the answer to. I can think of a few more.

BlueBelle Fri 16-Nov-18 22:07:43

No it doesn’t feel at all horrible as it just joins the rest of the water running off your body Try it sometime ???

Beau Fri 16-Nov-18 21:57:33

I very rarely shower as I like my daily (shallow) moisturising bath but honestly I could never, ever urinate in a shower. Nothing to do with germs, I just couldn't imagine why anyone would do it, it must feel horrible, wee running down your leg ?. DGS wees in his bath every night the second we pop him in but after reading this thread I can see this must be doing his tiny patch of eczema good rather than harm - that's a relief anyway ?

Grammaretto Fri 16-Nov-18 21:44:48

Someone tried testing the water at the swimming baths and found there was a high % of urine. I don't like that thought and it's what makes your eyes sting, not the chlorine.
At our community garden there's a compost loo. It has a separator so the urine goes one way and the other gets made into manure.
Apparently it's the mixture which smells.
Another interesting fact about pee.
If you are bothered by foxes attacking your poultry. Get all the men you know to pee around the boundary fence. This puts off the foxes. It must be male. Just as well. You wouldn't catch me peeing around the garden.
Urine is also a mordant for dyeing. But you all probably know these things.

Kapitan Fri 16-Nov-18 21:36:03

When you think about it, it could be far worse!

annep Fri 16-Nov-18 20:44:09

kitchen sink?? Nooo!!
