I'm afraid I feel that we are gradually moving towards an 'anything goes' society. Just look at what's on TV (from ALL providers). There isn't any innocence or anything left to the imagination any more. Everything was so much more romantic and sometimes even erotic if there was more left to the imagination. Oh dear, I sound like a prude but am not. Just saddened by the liberalness of society in general.

There are people who prefer sexual acitivities that they think will shock someone. When anything and everything becomes normal and acceptable, in private or public, nothing is left for those who want to be extreme and outrageous except the really dangerous and antisocial practices. These can be literally lethal - a matter of life and death. Unacceptance of a not-really-so-bad practice can make it daring and exciting enough for the rebels to indulge in it and feel they are shocking those who disapprove of it. That is one reason to not give up being shocked and disgusted when your personal boundaries are crossed.

You weren't suggesting that, PECS, but the atmosphere at the present time on sexual matters is going in that direction. A lot of things which used to be taboo are now mainstream, and some people are doing things openly and as "normal" (whatever that means!) that would have been done as private kinkiness previously.

That is good in that they are not made to feel guilty for their preferences, but it also means that other people, who might have been content most of the time with doing the ordinary unkinky things and venturing occasionally into wilder things, now also consider those kinky practices as "normal and boring" and venture even further out when they feel like adding excitement. There is a possibility of the numbers doing dangerous and abusive things increasing, which is not good news for those on the receiving end, or, psychologically, for those on the administering end.

I understand what you are saying. I guess that the greater access to / internet is also a major influence on these 'expectations' . So important for education about relationships to be well provided in schools to counter this sad and dangerous trend.

There are times & places and a cafe is not one of them!
We sat on a small Sydney harbour beach yesterday (sorry to mention/rub it in ?) and a very scantily clothed, bronzed couple stood, silhouetted on a rock in full view of everyone, being very intimate, with not a care in the world or for anyone else. The children thought it hilarious. If I'd been braver, I'd have climbed up with them and given the pair a nudge into the sea for a quick cooling down
