Least romantic gifts

Nothing! As DH didn't go Christmas shopping! Promised me a new grill pan (which I don't really want) "next time we are in town."

However, he has today used a significant amount of money to buy me the cargo bike I have been dreaming of for ages, so I really shouldn't complain about the missing Christmas gift, which he did feel uncomfortable about.

shysal...when I had an allotment, I should have loved a wheelbarrow...or a quantity of manure..!

God love him, he rushed out and bought another one first thing this morning. He did give me love earrings and sweeties!

Not a present, but a Mother's Day card from DH this morning. He hadn't read the words. He was mortified when he realised, me, I couldn't stop laughing.

When we had been married 7 years, hubby went on a day trip to Blackpool with his workmates. He rang me in the evening to say they were just about to set off home, and that he`d got me a present. It was a shopping bag.

Sellotape dispenser. Oven cleaner. Shoe horn. Silver polish! All wrapped in rather nice paper. Grrrr.
I think I had requested dressmaking scissors so maybe he was in a hardware shop and got carried away.

I was once given half a leek,from an ex boyfriend.To say I was speechless was an understatement. Perhaps it’s why the romance never blossomed. ?

I was once given a wheelbarrow on Mothering Sunday. It was a fetching shade of orange.

Any household item is a complete no-no!

No aggressively unromantic presents for me. DH knows that is something you never do. His DF gave his DM an iron one Christmas. His DM burst into tears and wasn't seen for the rest of Christmas day.

A rotary clothes line on our first wedding anniversary - I was not impressed

I would have liked flowers, got a bag of daffodil bulbs.

Many years back I spent weeks and a fair few pennies hunting down a certain fishing rod for my OH's Christmas present. He gave me a wall rack which was used to hang the ironing board from and it had a shelf bit at the top to hold the iron.... it never left it's box and that was the last time we exchanged gifts for anything - no surprise!

I have mentioned both of these before, but one Christmas I was presented with a gift that seemed to be the right size and shape to be the tablet I had been dropping hints about, but no, it was a digital air compressor for inflating tyres I think it was prompted by the fact that I had had a flat tyre a few weeks previously.

The other was also a Christmas gift. The large, and intriguing parcel, albeit beautifully wrapped was somewhat disappointing. It contained a new toilet seat.
