Worried about letting people down

I live constantly worried about letting people down, I have retired at 69 but have struggled with retirement now with DH concerned about living costs I feel I should go back to work but at the same time have lost my confidence .I feel I am letting everyone down myself included

I do understand where you are coming from though.

Contact the school and tell them you apologise but your priority is your husbands post operative care. It’s stressful enough what you are doing don’t make life more difficult for yourself and do not feel guilty.

I'm a terrible coward at this kind of thing, and I end up putting it off until I've made things harder, in the past.
Just imagine the relief of not having it hanging over you, though.

I tell myself that people wouldn't think twice about my feelings if they needed to get rid of me.

You have to cultivate that same mindset.

The sooner you tell them, the sooner they can make another arrangement.
