Also I think most of us wanted to have our children in our 20’s rather than our 30’s or even 40’s.

I’m sure many of us married young because that’s what you did back then. You weren’t allowed to spend the night together, go on holiday on your own etc, and certainly not sleep together in your parents home!

But also, our expectations were nothing like those of today’s young generation. We didn’t expect to start off with homes better than what our parents ended up with, and just worked our way up.

Also accepted that our love lives were not going to be a Mills and Boon romance. Real life stepped in.

We met when I was 19 and married at 22. We've been married for 53 years which is amazing as we're very much chalk and cheese

I was 16 and dh 17. Married in 1960 so nearly 64 years.

Last sentence should have read “Miss him every day.”

Met when I was not quite 19, he was 26 and it was almost instantly obvious that this would be serious, Married at 20 and 27 and it lasted almost 60 years. I never contemplated divorce though on occasion murder might have been a possibility! Misty him and every day.

I was 27 and he was 2 years younger. Divorced when I was 45. Happy ever after!

I was almost 18, he was a year older.

We met when I was 24 and he was 35. I will never know what he saw in me but we loved each other so much. We had 34 happy years together before he died nine years ago.💔

I was 17 when I met my husband to be, he was 21. Married just before my 19th birthday. Divorced. Met my now partner when I was 24, he is 9 years older. Lived together, happily unmarried, for 45 years.

Met when I was 16 , he was 18 in September 1970.
Married in July 1976 so 48 years in July.

We met in 1974 when I was 21 and he was 22. We married in 1976 at 23 and 24 having ‘lived in sin’ for a few months. In fact we only married when we did because OH was offered two years work in Seychelles and I could only go if we were married!

I was 15 and he was 17 - we married in 1975 when I was 19 and we're still hanging in there

Thank you Scribbles. He is fast asleep beside me snoring. I’ll wake him in a while for a cup of tea. A woman can only put up with so much.

Met the first one when I was stupid and naive at the age of 16, married at 18 - he was a wife beater.
Second partner, thankfully didn’t marry but I was 38. Left him because he played too many mind games and loved himself oh and other women.
Third one became my second husband and met him when I was 53 and we got married and still together.

17 (me) and 19 (him).

I was 30 and divorced and widowed soon after the divorce. Second husband is still with me after 42 years. How did that happen? He’s four years younger than me.

We met at school. I was a rather badly behaved 12 year old and he was 14 and a new prefect. We hated the sight of each other and I did my best to avoid him.
We met up again 6 years later and I discovered that he was rather nice and he discovered that I was better behaved. We married 3 years later and were together for 48 years until his death in 2022.

We met in the January and married in the April. He was 23, I was 20. We just knew!

We were together for 51years until he died in 2020.

I met my husband when I was 20 and it was a few days before his 21st birthday. We will soon have been together for 60 years and will have been married for 60 years next February.

Met when I was 23, he 30. Married at 25 & 32 for 38 years until he died 12 years ago.

Met a week before my 18th birthday, he was 19. Lived ‘in sin’ (as it was thought of back then!) after 6 months and married when I was 20.

51 years ago (where did the time go?) Sometimes I’ve been tempted to change him…😂

Lived in the same town, he went off to sea as a cadet in the Merchant Navy at 17, used to see each other around, he admits that he always thought I was the 'one' but wanted to do his travelling first!! We eventually got together at 21, married at 23. Been married for 56 years.

I was 22, he was 26, we married 2 years later and were still married when he fell victim to covid. It would have been our 53rd anniversary next week.

Looks like I m the only one who made a poor choice
